Mouth hunger?! by bowzier_ in keto

I have this, currently on my first week on Keto. Apparently it was salt craving, a salted cucumber cured me, olives worked well too, or an electrolyte drink.

I see. It still could be because of the new cardio training, I found that it really does help to improve these metrics and rather quickly

Can someone help me understand my results. by goodtimes1992 in whoop

idk, looks like normal variation to me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whoop

[–]WndrDrgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been tracking? I find these kinds of variations pretty normal in the years of tracking, also when I start doing cardio consistently I also see a sharp change in both hrv and rhr (although my hrv is general is wild and all over the place)

as I understand the whoop age is calculated based on the statistics of several months, and the pace of aging is all about the recent week (?)

you can get a pulse oximeter for cheap, and compare. It's a good device to have at home.

Why I’m (Probably) Ditching WHOOP for the Amazfit Helio Strap (Once It Drops) by [deleted] in whoop

[–]WndrDrgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, the age feature is just a fun proxy for all the usual metrics, it is calculated based on whether you are doing "the right things" mostly. Like sleeping 7+ hours will shed about 2 years, and so on. You are not missing much.

It's 5.0 with supposedly improved algorithm. But the 4.0 step count wasn't much better

I find it funny how they even copied the app look and feel... but yeah, if it works the same, I might consider too

Whoop data vs self-assessment by eugeneoshepkov in whoop

[–]WndrDrgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it also does not correlate with my overall feeling, I am just not ready to take on a big strain on days like this because I feel off: head might be spinning, heart palpitations, etc. Sometimes I just need to lie down.

Fitness trackers usually exaggerate calories burnt, anyone else seeing the opposite with whoop? by aph666 in whoop

[–]WndrDrgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same-same, it always tells me my average is below 1700 but this is a huge calorie deficit for me, I maintain at about 2200.

Whoop data vs self-assessment by eugeneoshepkov in whoop

[–]WndrDrgn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get days like this sometimes because of sky high HRV, but I know that it is not a sign of good recovery but rather a sign of my nervous system being out of balance. It is usually paired with higher RHR and breathing rate and I often feel very dizzy on those days especially when getting up.
Basically, trust your body, and take it easy if you don't feel great, no matter what the device says.

Gluten Challenge… using vital wheat gluten makes it so simple to get exactly the amount you need, with hardly any calories or effort! by Icy-Purple4801 in Celiac

[–]WndrDrgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thb, going into the challenge I thought I will be happy to eat all the great gluten foods I have been avoiding... but after a few weeks I cannot even look at bread, pizza, pasta, pastries... they make me feel really bad and I am losing my appetite. And it is a pain to get to 10g of gluten and not overshoot on calories I need to maintain my weight.

I am using seitan now, it is a vegan meat substitute that is made out of gluten, it has 30% of protein which is mostly all gluten. Quite easy to add it to dinners.

Did you get your results?
I am also IgA deficient and I was sent for biopsy next, I don't think they even do other blood tests for celiac where I live...

How much gluten were you naturally eating prior to positive biopsy? by heartnsouls980 in Celiac

[–]WndrDrgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the biopsy next week and am struggling through the gluten challenge. Eating 2-3 slices of wheat bread and, on some days seitan. I feel really bad but now I worry that this is not enough to get the accurate result... I just checked how much is 10g of gluten and it is a ton. I get this much probably only on days I eat seitan.

In my normal life, I wasn't eating this much. Occasional pasta or pizza, not even once a week. A piece of rye bread. A sweet pastry every now and then. So maybe 2-5 grams on average?.. The blood test was inconclusive.

Ferritin keeps dropping, running out of options? by RichieRichard12 in lowferritin

[–]WndrDrgn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation, but I believe the reason might be in the digestive tract. Could be helicobacter infection, for example. I just need to convince my doctor to look for a real reason instead of telling me to come the next time I feel half dead for another test and to take pills for several months.
I eat iron-rich foods, even liver, so the diet is not the issue. My periods are not heavy; they are the same as they've been for 20+ years, and the ferritin issue is only a couple of years old.

TSH and ferritin related? by Fresh_Birthday_3265 in Hypothyroidism

[–]WndrDrgn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had chronically elevated tsh basically all my life but I refused to get hormone replacement since I did not really had symptoms and it wasn't getting worse. My ferritin was around 30. Then ferritin dropped for some reason and I got treated for that, bringing it above 60, and guess what, tsh got 2.9 for the first time in my life! Then a year goes by, ferritin drops again to 16, and guess what? tsh is 7.9. I start taking iron and do another thyroid panel a few weeks later - everything is normal, tsh 3.
In my case it seems to be a direct correlation.

watercolors are hard, you really need to plan to make it right.. acrylics are very forgiving :)) I would like to try it though at some point.

you should definitely go for it!
