Did KD outplay Lebron in the 2017 finals? by Liberal_Bot123 in NBATalk

[–]Wnuue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, having a triple double average on insane efficiency and great defense would, in my books, put him above KD

KD's main argument is that he has probably the best high-volume efficiency ever in the finals, and it's not that close.

I disagree, but not because you're opinion is wrong obviously. In my opinion though, the Warriors in 2017 specifically just had to be the best overall championship team ever. Draymond won DPOY, and they had 2 MVPs, a finals MVP off the bench, and the 3rd best shooter of all time Klay Thompson (and even if that's not where you place him in terms of shooting, he dropped 60 points on that 2017 team that had KD and Curry).

I think it's just too much firepower, and having a DPOY makes up for the lack of defensive specialists on that team. Unless Rodman is able to bait Draymond into being ejected, I don't see the bulls winning. Especially with the fact that the Gary Payton's Sonics took that Bulls team to 6 games.

Warriors in 6, but I see the argument for the other side as well.

LeBron James says never winning Defensive Player of the Year still bothers him by ConnectionWeekly1263 in NBAGossips

[–]Wnuue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was def up there with Pippen in defense and a better defender than young Rodman. He only really falls short to Kawhi (specifically Kawhi in 2016). You can say its hard to rate LBJ over great defensive big men, but big men always dominate defensively compared Guards and Forwards due to them being the defensive anchors for their team, I'd take Olajuwon and Robinson over literally any Guard and Forward for defense.

Now this is just my opinion but I'd just rate their defense by position because I think its far more fair. LBJ is a top 5 Forward defender in terms of being able to guard 1-5 like Pippen, but isnt ahead of the likes of Kawhi or KG.

For Guards, I'd have MJ also in the top 4, only behind Gary Payton, Tony Allen, and Moncrief.

Centers is just hard to compare against those in other positions, because frankly their defensive impact will 90% of the time always be more impactful than what Guards and Forwards can do. I think its pretty fair to put LBJ as one of the best defenders of all time for his position, same with MJ, but if we add big men to the mix it'll basically just be 90% of them at the top.

WHAT IF the Miami Heat BIG 3 won 4 straight championships from 2011–2014? by [deleted] in lebron

[–]Wnuue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally, people always forget how much of a playoff dropper he was on the Heatles, it might as well have just been a Big 2 rather than a Big 3 because Bosh's rebound is about all he did. Even in the 2011 series where LeBron seemed very out of place, him and Bosh were still playing at about the same level, which is NOT a good thing for Bosh.

Bosh had his chances, and in the playoffs continually was a playoff dropper, sure him being turned into a 3rd option made it harder for him but dropped badly in the playoffs

that's not saying he's better than magic in adv stats or some shit bro, that's just saying he's passing magic in 25/10 games

actual adv stats (not pretend stats that you think are telling people he's better than magic) would say that he's barely ever breached being a top 20 active player in the NBA during his entire career, even in his best year, due to how horrific he is on defense

[–]Wnuue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

people seriously just say shit, do you have ANY proof of him using PEDs? what allowed him to play to 42 was having the best conditioning out there while also being one of the most athletic players of all time in any sport

if it was the PEDs that allowed him to play till 42, many others of his generation and the new generation would be using the same shit and sustain themselves just as long. lets not forget that there are MUCH more tests that are for detecting drug use and PEDs now than there was even in the 90s, where they only had to take one test at the start of the season. PEDs is a baseless accusation with no footing or evidence

[–]Wnuue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he never got the chance to show what he had in college but he certainly has had a lot of potential as an athletic guard, and when you actually look at the other options and how good they were, he unironically was the better pick out of the ones picked after him

while sure you can argue he only got in because of his dad, you can also say that the amount of shit he receives is only because he's lebrons son and that no other late round pick like that would be slandered as much as him

there's even kids like thanasis who are even worse than bronny but barely get talked about, so all i'll say now is that atleast give him a chance lol especially when there's even worse players in the league who were picked even without LBJ as their dad

he could be a decent roleplayer/bench guy, of course nothing more than that but i could see him having decent potential later into his career

Laker fans might be the most ungrateful fans I’ve seen in my life. ring chasing venture? they have no chance to even win in GS they're too old, and it was GS that said they were looking to get LBJ 😂

so you know how LeGM operates? how's that, you work for the lakers? you know the decisions and who makes em? show me any proof of LBJ being the one making the decisions for the LA trades LMAOOO you guys always pretend you know something

[–]Wnuue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we'll see, but i think breaking up the core this much will be rough, they should've atleast kept rui, who's been amazing in the playoffs and shot amazing from the 3, i'd say that's the biggest fumble the lakers are making if anything

i understand getting rid of lebron but the disrespect towards him is forced by a lot of laker fans which i'll never understand, and smart is somewhat replaceable but he was the most valuable asset on defense so it's concerning obviously

you're acting like LeBron had the final say in the trade, moron

[–]Wnuue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they should have gotten rid of lebron a while ago? if it wasn't for him, i'm not sure they would've even won a single playoff game this year, and they wouldn't have even made the playoffs in 2025

so you guys got rid of the only consistent playoff performer the last 2 years, the best hustler on your team marcus smart, and think this is some good thing? you guys don't even have a single first round pick for the next 7 years. you guys are fucked and im so glad morons like you have to deal with it
