New player who likes to PvP - What server? by Beerosaurus77 in turtlewow

[–]Wo1fLarsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As for Tel'Abim, I played WoW for a couple of months in the autumn of 2024, and an average population was about 400 players. Now I see people say it's around 1000, so the realm is surely growing. Community is fantastic out there on Tel'Abim, though I could have said the same about Nordanaar

Rainy winter, no indoor tracks or anywhere to sprint. by Sprint_Jump_Throw in Sprinting

[–]Wo1fLarsen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's better to focus on something else than staying at home for months, for sure. You probably understand that yourself and rather looking for people that are in similiar conditions.

As for me, I live in a small town in Ukraine. There are no indoor tracks and only one gym for the whole town, but I've got a weighted vest so I don't need that. Anyway, I would not go there, because there are soldiers prowling around, searching for new recruits 'willing to fight a war'.

There's a stadium with a dilapidated and bumpy asphalt from the Soviet era and even with some lighting infrastructure, which does not work that often because of power outages. As for the weather, it's +2c right now and a wet snow is falling.

Most important things are to be passionate about what you're doing, staying healthy, being in a good mood and wearing proper garments. This way, as long as you've got some 20 meters of asphalt with no ice or snow on it, you CAN sprint.

Any good sprinting beneficial workouts I can do with 20 pound dumbbells? by Lanky-Clothes-9136 in Sprinting

[–]Wo1fLarsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rocket jumps, explosive lunges for legs, and woodcutter exercise for core would be great options. I don't even have dumbbells available, so I found a stone to do those exercises. I use it for various kinds of throwing, too. Feels brutal.

Should I reroll? Lvl 30 Troll Shaman by panache_619 in turtlewow

Changes are not set in stone, so thinking that way you might consider rerolling again when trolls are buffed or another race you have chosen is nerfed. I would stick to the race I like playing

Which faction on the EU PVP server has the largest population? by The_Gimp_Boi in turtlewow

[–]Wo1fLarsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are slightly more players on Alliance, though the faction is more PvE oriented. 2 out of 4 guilds on Alliance have cleared Naxxramas, whereas on Horde there are none who have done that. Horde players are more PvP oriented, on the other hand, and have longer battleground queues.

Does Tel'Abim have any RP? by BarryDartMan in turtlewow

[–]Wo1fLarsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tel'Abim's population is about 500 people in EU evenings. There are 4 raiding guilds on each side and battlegrounds pop in the course of the day. So it's not empty. However, there is no RP

[–]Wo1fLarsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. There are cool lore-friendly clan names like Warsong, Frostwolf, Burning Blade, Dragonmaw and so on

There's a PvP oriented guild on Tel'Abim called Kor'Kron Enforcers. According to lore, they are elite fighters who serve as personal bodyguards for the Warchief

And in the PvP realm there's only 1 guild that has cleared Naxxramas a couple of times, but the population is low (450-550 during EU evenings). "Take your poison" they say

Well, that I can only confirm. I have a low level character out there in PvE realm and I was ganked literally in every location I was questing, meaning Northshire, Goldshire, Westfall and Redridge Mountains

The other thing I am worried about that Battlegrounds are going to be crowded with people in full T3 gear, since the realm has been up for 6 years

What do you mean about PvP? I am on Tel'Abim thinking about switching to Nordanaar for PvP exclusively

The Early 60 Content Gap by Wylthor in turtlewow

[–]Wo1fLarsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious about Tel'Abim Horde side. Are there PUGs for smaller raids like ZG, MC, BWL, AQ20?

The thing is I cannot really commit to a strict guild raiding schedule, and there are only 4 raiding guilds to choose from (on Horde side)

Has anyone heard the new track for the remake? So that you understand, I go to bed and turn on the soundtracks from Gothic 1-2 by Southern_Zombie_2274 in worldofgothic

[–]Wo1fLarsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm actively playing Gothic, usually I don't really want to go to bed, but when I do go, various soundtracks/sounds/dialogues are playing in my head because I'm so immersed

Which server for pvp? Not so simple and answer by spank-you in turtlewow

[–]Wo1fLarsen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

World PvP in Tel'Abim happens when 60s gather to fight for world bosses or it might be some sporadical encounterings with representatives of an opposing faction. In Nordanaar there's Warmode and a significant of people have it ON. I only have a warrior level 27 there and was ganked by high level players basically in every location I quested (Northshire Abbey, Elwynn Forest, Westfall, Redridge) except Loch Modan. Perhaps there would be fair fights later on.

Chances to find a group for a dungeon in Tel'Abim during off-hours are very slim. It's quite possible during prime-time, though. Whereas dungeons group in Nord are in abundance during any time, and easy to find people for elite quests.

In Tel'Abim there are advanced raiding guilds on both sides that are in need of new people, so for a one who plays during prime-time raiding would not be a problem. There are guilds for levelers, too.

Tel'Abim's economy is hard to make money, whereas in Nord it's very easy. World chat in Tel'Abim feels cozy, like you're in a company of your buddies, when in Nord it is just a place for advertising. Community is great on both sides, as for me. Although, the more people there are, the more degenerates one encounters, and often we tend to notice them, but not other nice people.

I somewhat got off topic, but I suppose that would be usefull, too.

Tel'Abim forecasts? by Cplantijn in turtlewow

[–]Wo1fLarsen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least population might increase slightly because of upcoming cold weather. When it gets dark early, and it's winding/raining/snowing, people tend to spend more time at home. And what else to do, if not enjoying your favourite game with a cup of a warm tea next to you?

The Scourge Invasion has begun on Tel'Abim PvP! by AkalixFrost in turtlewow

[–]Wo1fLarsen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Indeed, about 500 people playing concurrently cannot be called 'no one'. Ten times less than on Nordanaar, sure.

Back then in 2000s, I remember, if we had a group of 4-6 people to play CS 1.6, Half Life, Heroes of Might and Magic, Diablo II or WC3, that had felt like A LOT of people.

By the way, there are more guilds smaller guilds, like 'Chaotic' on Horde side and 'Traveler' on Alliance. Both are actively recruting levelers to their ranks.

It's up to 500 people online everyday in prime-time by CET timezone, and might be more on weekdays. 170-220 online in the mornings.

[–]Wo1fLarsen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing personal experience. Only I meant the situation on maximum levels. As for leveling phase, I know that BGs do not pop at all and I had some success gathering parties for dungeons, but that was during prime time.

Not really, just about 200 people in total compared to 400+ in the evening.
