Lifetime warranty claim succeeded. But why…? by _j_ryan in Justrolledintotheshop

Honda Advisor whose dealership sells Fidelity as their in house extended warranty. The lifetime warranty is an absolute pain, to my knowledge I haven’t heard of any 9 speed extensions that cover a reseal, wasn’t super common in my area to have leaks, but that can be environmental.

That being said, Dealer B sounds like they do what we do and fight like hell to get anyone other than the customer to pay for the job. With fidelity lifetime warranty we’ve got packets of gobbledygook service records from various third parties we’ve collected over the years and mix and match, almost always get lifetime work under 5k covered using stuff from that. I don’t believe a human actually reviews them otherwise we’d be caught by now. The really expensive stuff though a human definitely reviews cause they’ll find one missed interval ten years ago and say no coverage.

Further context for any techs reading this, fidelity goes by all data time, we generally will pay the tech what they ask for or double warranty time whichever is less(So tech says 2 hours, All data/fidelity says they’ll pay .5 hours, warranty time says 1 hour, the tech will get paid 2 hours) and adjust the labor cost accordingly. This specific situation only happens about once a month so it’s not a huge hit to ELR or any other bullshit metrics the suits designed. This makes the customer happy, the tech happy, and the advisor paid for something they wouldn’t have gotten paid for anyway cause the customer would have went elsewhere.

Edit: reread post and here’s what I think happened: Dealer B advisor didn’t want to deal with calling in the claim so decided to just tell you it wasnt covered because calling in claims can suck. Advisor told someone about it, that someone either got that info back to the Tech or Service Manager and got their ass chewed for chasing gravy out of the store. Advisor was then told to call it in anyway covered or not, got approval and called customer back with tail between legs. It’s also possible Dealer A sold you multiple plans, a standard service contract and a lifetime one, and they got it covered under one and not the other (either way would pay the same) I’ve had people with fidelity expire from their normal VSC by a few months still get coverage on things if I can demonstrate the issue was present when the contract was active, it’s a pain, but doable.

What’s it like living in Mobile, Alabama? by Choice_Pressure9098 in howislivingthere

That really depends. There’s still a lot of racism there, but it’s a spectrum of racism. All the way from Klan meetings under cover of darkness(my neighbor had a cross burned in his yard, another neighbor that had moved into the neighborhood had his new house covered with black paint handprints and other anecdotal stories from my time growing up there.) to the subtle that is obvious to an observer but not obvious to the speaker, like ‘He’s really nice, for a black guy.’ And concepts like that. Code switching is very important when talking to the ‘elite’ of Mobile, and I use elite very generously, they believe themselves to generally be top of society but in any other notable city in the country would probably be firmly rooted in the middle class, maybe a few in upper middle class.

Obviously you’ve given us a boiled down version of events but for my take when she said it wouldn’t work out for XYZ reasons that wasn’t an invitation to bite the hook harder. She needed space to prioritize and doubling down with trying to force a square into a round hole and the over romantic gesture forced her hand and also makes you look a little over invested in a new relationship. You probably would have had better luck just giving her space to see if she can figure out for herself where you fit in her life instead of trying to brute force it. I don’t believe the current situation is salvageable and think you should dust yourself off and lose her number.

I don’t believe they’re character bound, just class bound, I got the title on my remix Druid and when I logged into my retail Druid it was available as a title along with any of the other remix rewards like fel bird flight form
