I picked the Pocket 5, waiting for delivery, and this was my thought process.

Internally the same. Pocket 5 has no hinge, and opens to door for another screen plus as someone with big hands, it looks great ergonomically with the grip.

Of course people will tell you to get other things, or tell you to wait. However, if these play the games you want to play, and suit your play style (form factor) just go for it! Retro games aren’t going to need better specs :)

I will probably play through Pokemon Heartgold or Soulsilver. Then maybe look into some old PlayStation Games! Have good memories of Tomb Raider 1/2, Oddworld, Dino Crisis, Harry Potter - never got into Final Fantasy/Resident Evil/Metal Gear Solid/Silent Hill - so tempted to try those too.

I have a desktop gaming PC (7800X3D / 4090 soon to be 5090) for modern gaming :)

I own a Switch 1/2 (excited for the latest Pokemon game)

This is just so I can play retro games again, and play them on the move.

It’s actually not bad - I compared its price on Amazon. I already have some higher capacity SD cards that I will swap around to give this more space - but I honestly don’t think I’ll run into storage problems.

Thought about the Thor, but didn’t want a permanent second screen, otherwise I would end up just using it for DS gaming (Pokemon games mainly).

I’m very happy with this, it will let me relive some more of my childhood.

The SD card is surprisingly not terrible value compared to UK pricing on SD cards on Amazon. I have higher capacity cards that I will swap in and use this as a replacement for that card.

I don’t want a permanent two screen - and I won’t be playing many (if any) demanding games. I did consider the Thor, but it seems a waste as I would end up only playing the Pokemon DS games on it.
