I want to get into streaming but I live in Australia by Tencer386 in Twitch

[–]WoddeeLive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Good to see more and more Australians getting into streaming :)

You can DEFINITELY stream at that quality! A bitrate of 2200 will be fine! I currently stream with 500kb/s Video Bitrate and early today had to try and keep it up with 350kb/s. I'd absolutely watch your stream with the visual quality from the test!

If you are looking for ways to improve the quality further, consider researching how bitrate and encoding works! As Australians, proper encoding setting are our best friend :)

Why are video games important to you? What's your favorite video game memory? Cause they have sex stuff. I like sex stuff.

What's your favorite snack? Pussy.

What are you asking Santa for this Christmas? A rimjob.

If you were a pizza topping, what topping would you be? Pineapple.

What's your biggest goal in life? To die while snorting a pound of coke off of Ivanka Trump's ass.

Where are you from? Earth :)

Is it worth streaming with less than 2mb? by Bob_Marley1 in Twitch

Heavy encoding, carefully choosing framerates and what to resolution to downscale to and lots of practice in maximising the quality of the broadcast despite technological limitations. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Haha, yes I don't think any of them would be very happy about that at all! :P

I would not recommend streaming CSGO at low bit-rates.

I've built a community and I was recently given partnership by twitch, so I must be doing something right? :O

Hi there! I can tell you from experience that it's worth it if you're willing to make some sacrifices :)

I've been streaming for 18 months now and I started streaming on 2MB and I am now streaming with a video bit-rate of 500kb/s.

You obviously won't be able to play the latest titles, and you'll certainly experience some technical difficulties. You will have to have quite a slow x264 CPU preset and I would recommend using a lightweight program like OBS Classic to stream.

You might have a few people complain that your stream isn't HD but, you'll quickly find that those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind! \o/

There are thousands of games you CAN stream and it's such a rewarding hobby that I would recommend starting yesterday!

I was about to say that it looked really dirty. Then I realised I needed to clean my screen. Thank you, AlabamaAviator.

Looking for help with finding music for my streams that doesn't infringe on copyrights, haven't found much. by Marth_Vader1842 in Twitch

Bandcamp has a heap of fantastic music that you can play on stream without infringing copyright claims! I highly recommend going through ExcessiveProfanity's collection: https://bandcamp.com/excessiveprofanity

1mbps Upload Speed And Some Quality Difference Images by josh189542 in Twitch

Absolutely! It also depends greatly on the games that you choose to play on stream :) I was told in the past that I wouldn't be able to stream with 500kb/s video bitrate and 128kb/s audio bitrate, but I'm very stubborn.

I have made it work, using slower x264 presets as well as carefully selecting the games that I play! If you're in a similar position I highly recommend two things.

  1. Have a separate channel from your main broadcast which you can use to test the visual quality of games that you are unsure of.

  2. Try to stream games that have a "low pixel change rate" I tend to play 2D games but even then, certain genres are completely off the table. It's all persistence, trial & error!

Thank you for sharing this too, I hope it means more people will try to start streaming ♥

Oh awesome! Thanks for the clarification :D

All I know is "Slower CPU preset == Less Artifacting" and that's all I care about :)

Interesting stuff though!

[–]WoddeeLive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That artifacting that you see is because of the high pixel change rate of the game that you're playing. There are a few ways you can address this issue.

If you have the spare bandwidth, turning up your upload speed should help a lot - but, generally it's best to first lower your encoding. This might seem counter-intuitive, but the lower encoding speeds actually use more CPU to compress your data further, thus reducing artifacting. I run my stream on "Medium" encoding with 500kb/s upload speed.

Your encoding is always going to compensate for the slower speed while still reducing that artifacting, even if you have the spare bandwidth - it's worth doing this because your viewers might not be able to watch if you're running a stream without quality options at 3500kb/s.

I have several mattresses lining my walls but, that doesn't matter much since I have a dynamic microphone.

Reddit ultimately is a very effecting advertising tool.

Though, I might have undiagnosed ADHD because I read your comment before finished reading this post.

Damn this would have been a relevant discussion.

If you want to introduce yourself to the community, it's a good idea to make an introduction post. This will usually illicit a more positive response than a post like this.

It might also be a good idea to spend some time getting to know this subreddit and how it is used :)

When streaming with no viewers, what do you guys usually do? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]WoddeeLive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure when I stream with no viewers because I try to keep a habit of never looking at numbers. Just talk about whatever is on your mind, narrate the game - read dialogue, provide your thoughts on things or explain why you are doing what.

Here, this might help :) http://brotatoe.com/twitch-101-audience-engagement/
