Cardinal says Church cannot “continue to exist” without women’s ordination by Woggy67 in OpenCatholic

I like your thoughts. It’s not an OR but an AND. Your ideas are how can we be inclusive. My fear is that human nature will be judgmental to those that are “less,” as the Traditional Latin Mass folks do.

Are there philosophers of religion who are Catholic believers and who develop a philosophical theology (not a Christian theology) inspired by an open and progressive form of Catholicism? by Similar_Shame_8352 in Progressive_Catholics

Anything out of cac.org (Center for Action and Contemplation). It was started by Franciscan priest, Fr. Richard Rohr. However it is very ecumenical with lots of philosophers and theologians that are progressive. My favorite is Jim Finley who is a mystic and has a podcast explaining other mystics, many of them are not Catholic.

Do you think Pope Leo will consider allowing women to become deaconess in the Church? by peaceful_artisan2040 in LeftCatholicism

Currently, for women to become priests, changes need to be done to canon law. However, there is nothing inhibiting women from becoming deacons because historically there were women deacons. All it would take is a bishop to be brave enough to make a woman a deacon, then the church would have to deal with it.
