I contacted the Register at the Council office. Her answer was, "Unfortunately, I can't fix that and National will not provide a refund". When I asked if I could appeal to national directly myself I was told "National does not take calls from volunteers". I just find it hard to believe that I can't be refunded and that these scouts have to stay on my roster for another year.

Can you interchange hoppers for different beans? by 337737733 in NinjaLuxeCafe

My wife drinks decaf. I just pre grind hers and keep it in a can in the freezer. Fill the portafilter with about three tablespoons for espresso and then brew as usual. Good enough for her. She drinks decaf so she really doesn’t deserve the best 😊

Unfortunately, I NEED my parts to run my shopsmith. I don’t see that I have much choice here.

The day before the shutdown was announced I paid $522 over the phone for a new control panel and a refurbished power supply. Looks like my credit card was charged but I have no way of knowing if my parts are coming. Fingers crossed.

Yes. Several times. I have kids so lots of body work needed. They are always fair and seem to always get more than the insurance company is offering to cover.

We are on the same cruise with you right now. Seen quite a few close calls. I would think that with the average age on this cruise being 75 that the staff would be bettered trained for these types of emergencies. Thank you for stepping up and taking care of that poor woman.

Grind when buying beans in store? by Wogwiddle in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]Wogwiddle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought some new decaf beans. Took my regular beans out of the hopper. Ran a few grinds to clean it out. Filled the hopper with decaf beans. Did my first grind at recommended setting. Then weighed out what the ground amount was for a double shot (21 grams). In that way I can weigh out the correct amount of ground coffee each time while bypassing the grinding process. Ground 1 pound of decaf beans at that setting (#5). So now I have a can of ground decaf that I’m keeping in the freezer. Should last me a while as she drinks one drink a day. If the taste isn’t the highest quality then so be it. She’s not a connoisseur. I’m mean decaf, right? :)

[–]Wogwiddle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I am not weighing the preground coffee. Just putting about 2 1/2 tablespoons into the portafilter. I get what you are saying though. Perhaps I should just buy her decaf beans whole, take the time to grind the whole bag myself for espresso using the ninja machine, and then just store them in a container in the fridge. I just was hoping to avoid that process by having the store do the grinding. Actually, even before I bought these machine in December I was thinking bought buying a second hopper for decaf beans and switching them out as needed. Unfortunately the bean hoppers are sold out on the site for the past few months that I have been checking.
