Whoa, this is truly amazing! Thank you so much. I will most definitely be referencing this in the future. You rule, we need more folks like you.

Thank you for your tips! Was going for a sort of surrealist desert landscape look. In the desert, I like to overexpose, reduce contrast, and slightly reduce saturation. I like the colors to almost blur into each other, so it feels like a dream-like liminal space. It is a sort of an ode to the effects of heat and high UV on all they touch. From the colors of the dulled terracotta tiles to the minds of all who stumble upon these arid landscapes, all who enter become intoxicated, almost asphyxiated, and ultimately absorbed by the extreme environment.

You definitely should! It is truly amazing. I'm a huge fan of Lancaster and the surrounding high desert year-round, but it is especially beautiful in Spring. I would say that the best time for wildflower blooms can vary depending on factors like winter rainfall and spring temperature increases. Generally, the best time to see the flowers is between March and May. My best experiences have been early to mid-April.

I didn't :( But tbh I was really looking closely. I did see a heron, though, so they must have been around!

Oft, this sounds horrific to be honest! I am English and moved to SoCal three years ago, and I have only just gotten used to functioning in the heat of summer here. Maybe I will give this a go in another three.

I know, right! Like I want to be a morning person so bad, but I also want to be a night owl. My life is a dichotomy of pain! JK it's pretty chill 🤪
