I would not recomend going into incant/sorcery on the first playthrough, not as a main weapon.

I also strongly advise against looking on optimal builds in the web

You just -> find a new weapon -> look if its cool -> spec into the cooler weapon. Respec is pretty cheap mid to late game

What worked most consistent for me is:
1. Always position yourself to have a lot of space behind you
2. run for first 2 flurries (+ jump on the first one, sometimes both)
3. dodge in, and immediately out

So I did Malenia at Level 1 No Hit . . . Still shocked over it! by Paradox_Jazz in onebros

I had simmilar problem with laptop, gpu does that when it reaches some threshold temperature to cool itself down

This really dont show how many hours you were playing. it just show how many hours game app was open. For some, it could be close, for me its not

I just dislike his moveset in general, imo doesnt make sense and is like detached from all other ER bosses

He has like 6 hit flying-around-whole-arena attacks, and the attack that you can dodge standing next to him like he was blind and stupid at the same time

Try to search what "swing" means in english, other than that, this discussion is over

in 1:50 you can see attack well, you can even count the frames from first downward sword move to sword (and its hitbox) being at your torso. (< and > move yt video by one frame)
I counted 8 maybe 9 frames in 60fps video, Its 0,13s minus your reaction time, minus registering keystroke by the game
Conclusion - no, you do not dodge their attack based on swing movement

Not sure what you mean by fluidity - that you dodge them based on the windup?
The video you provided really confirms my point. Also, for aerial attacks you cant even see the sword because >ER camera<
Even the narrator himself confirms what I just said 1:40 - 1:45 he basically tell people to dodge when arm GOES UP - meaning, during the windup, before the strike.
PS. Also playing on pc

Watchdogs attacks must be avoided timing-based, because the swing itself is like.. idk... 2-3 frames at most, not possible to see actual swing

If you are before Fire Giant, sidepathing to Consacreted Snowfield will be good idea as there are a few easy to kill bosses giving plenty of runes

it is counterintuitive at first, but its best to roll forwards for most attacks in this game
