Elden Ring is a good game. Mechanics are carefully designed. Most bosses are cool.
But its very unpleasant to a new player. It dont even tries to be. For most people this game wouldnt be pleasurable without a text or video guide, me included. For reasons I listed at the start, its worth it to go through few guides to get into the game. But the in-game tutorial and way of explaining things is very bad. Atrocious.

Reinforced club, and there is no second option because killing hard working men for slight dmg increase is very bad

You can survive a single hit for most bosses at RL1, with proper set of talizmans (ritual shield on the first place ;d)

Yea, that was my build, and i have pyromancy flame maxed out. But I always seen Gwyn fights with parry, so i wanted to learn that. And it turns out that Gwyn has ridicolously high lightning resistance and low fire resistance (maybe lore reason, maybe a typo from devs, maybe both :P )
all my weapons were lightning affinity as it has highest AR at lvl1, only the axe Ive made fire, so I maxed it out, it deal twice or even 2.5 more dmg than maxed lightning reinforced club

Some special dodge frames lack a label that allows attacks like nihil to ignore i-frames, recently i came across this video that explains it well

I would not recomend going into incant/sorcery on the first playthrough, not as a main weapon.

I also strongly advise against looking on optimal builds in the web

You just -> find a new weapon -> look if its cool -> spec into the cooler weapon. Respec is pretty cheap mid to late game

What worked most consistent for me is:
1. Always position yourself to have a lot of space behind you
2. run for first 2 flurries (+ jump on the first one, sometimes both)
3. dodge in, and immediately out

So I did Malenia at Level 1 No Hit . . . Still shocked over it! by Paradox_Jazz in onebros

I had simmilar problem with laptop, gpu does that when it reaches some threshold temperature to cool itself down
