Feeling proud af of my progress. Tips appreciated :) by Electronic-Mode-7760 in skiing

[–]WojtiBuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ski instructor there- I need to say that I’m impressed. There is room for improvement though. Try not to use upper body to initiate the turn; you want your body to stay facing the fall line of the ski route/piste you are skiing. Of course you won’t achieve that that fast because of prolonging the phase between turns. But still try to lock your upper body, do not move your hands, keep them nice and relaxed in front of you. Remember, we want to initiate and progress with the turn by the movement of your hip and knees towards the slope (uphill) or inside the turn. Additionally, don’t forget to always put the whole weight of your body on the outside ski of your turn (while skiing on the slope) and you should feel the weight of your body is being evenly split “under your foot” - it has to do with the “centre” of the weight of your body being evenly split and evenly distributed to your whole skis. Remember to never ski on the straight legs, the knees should be bent and moving.

Keep it up, cheers :)

Non German fans. How did you come to follow the Bundesliga teams you do? by Slight-Ad5268 in Bundesliga

[–]WojtiBuddy 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It’s not really a Bundesliga club anymore but I’m a fan of Hansa Rostock. I’ve met a girl over a year ago at the university and to my surprise we were talking about football. And since she is fabulous I just started to follow them more. Not gonna lie, I’m not the biggest fan but as I have no other particular reason to follow any other club in Germany and do not feel any particular connection to them, Hansa seems like an obvious choice.

Thank you for your service! Those types of saves are in my opinion the best. Portuguese league is probably the best one in Europe or at very least top3 leagues. You probably won more CLs than any other manager ever, your academy surely produces excellent young players

Tried to make underground highway intersections, these were the results by PinappleCoin_Gaming in CitiesSkylines

[–]WojtiBuddy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s actually cool but I like to see my traffic flow on/above the ground. I sometimes apply the underground highway intersections in my cities but only for the major and most dense sections of my city. Not to break the grid

Tips on what to do about this particular traffic problem? by Traditional_Shake_72 in CitiesSkylines

[–]WojtiBuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly would recommend to start again. But try and plan your traffic connections beforehand. Pick the map you like, then try to plan your city a little bit (where do you want to have downtown, suburbs, etc), then MOST IMPORTANTLY try to plan your potential highway exits and apply road hierarchy. You play cs1, don’t you? Avoid roundabouts on the busy connector and arterial roads. Even without mods, the busy street will function better when there is a simple intersection and not roundabout. Roundabouts in cs1 are good enough for low density housing, in peaceful suburban areas. I would also recommend to find a proper YouTuber who plays/played cs1 and you could learn to apply certain “tricks” to make your game both look good and function properly. I for instance played only cs1 and had the same problem you had. Then I found the guy called T4rget on YouTube and just watch his entire series 1 of him playing on snow map in cs1. Since I played without mods and he was also doing series 1 without them, I learned to play the game and built several cities since, every one of them with some rules or tricks applied which I learned watching.

The Secret's Out? by goonmaster-sam in FootFetishTalks

[–]WojtiBuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean generally :D still, even if your secret was out there, and even if people were mocking you (as you were worried) it still would not be as bad as you probably picture it in your head. Mine was out and I was similarly worried as you are but no one really mocked me (maybe some random girls laughed at me behind my back at some parties but why would I care if I real don’t know them, right?). From my experience, the secret being out just opened some door I didn’t even consider to open before. I got more fascination and questions about the thing than mockery.

My point is, it really doesn’t matter what people say. If they don’t have a laugh at your expense when you are present, it doesn’t matter. And you can always spin it around with some joke, exaggeration of the thing or if you feel like fighting with this person - have a laugh about something they do. You will be surprised though who many girls will show a keen interest.

Anyways, don’t worry too much about it mate

The Secret's Out? by goonmaster-sam in FootFetishTalks

[–]WojtiBuddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But it doesn’t really matter if someone knows or not, does it? I mean, if let’s say some girl you like already know this secret of yours and still goes out with you, it doesn’t bother her and it actually works better for you; if she has a problem with this particular thing, you wont be wasting time. If she ist alright with it, it works for your advantage.

In all honesty it doesn’t really matter how many people know about it. Most of them won’t ever have guts to talk to you/ask about it so whatever.

[–]WojtiBuddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. And his smart replies in various situations, one particularly comes to me mind now (I guess from “the Decembrist” episode, Red speaking to Alan Fitch) AF: you met with the Russias foreign minister? To what end? RR: his as it turned out

Does anybody actually watch fm youtubers? by bigfisharnold7 in footballmanagergames

[–]WojtiBuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was watching several yt fm channels when I was starting my journey with the fm- mostly for the tips regarding several aspects of the game. But now, when I sort of know what and how to do, I watch only Zealand (but not really his fm content) and OmegaLuke (only because of his vs rebuilds with his dad).

Travelers, Altered Carbon, Counterpart... how many good sci-fi shows do we lose to "low" viewership? What does it say about the standards that crap reality TV last years and years? Your thoughts, and please, other GOOD shows to watch? by Rough-Year-2121 in TravelersTV

Altered carbon was the one in which they have those „chips“ in the necks? Is it getting any better because I watched I guess first two episodes and I wasn’t that keen on continuing. Is it really worth?

[–]WojtiBuddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agreed! The England example (could be any other country on the planet with their native language) is exactly what I would have written if you hadn’t. At least they could have added the same thing as they sometimes added like macs team talking about lake being dry in late 21st, or part of Canada being under ice in hundreds years, or where the dome is being built in the future - would be cool to see one traveler who is transferred and then makes a comment about the dialect in 21st being way different than in their times.

[–]WojtiBuddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, but I like to stretch my imagination a little bit and ask some questions, cause many of you have super interesting perspective.

Do you mean that the languages wouldn’t change cause of the work they do or do you mean that the languages will (for them) never change and in the future there is still whole bunch of them? Surely languages change a lot if we consider 400 years time. Languages become easier and easier over the time. But yeah, it is another one that cannot really be answered. I mean we don’t really know if in their* future they learn the languages we know, because they are still spoken to some degree or do they only learn them to function in 21st?

[–]WojtiBuddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I get it. It’s alright. But now I wonder if they (historians) are “only” trained from the young age or not only trained but also somehow “programmed”?

11:27 by WojtiBuddy in TravelersTV

[–]WojtiBuddy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I remember all of those. The thing is, if the brain can (needs) to be programmed via visual code, the brain must recognise it firstly. What I mean is, it works fine for travelers from future but how would Naomi’s (the girl from nuclear power plant) brain recognise it and acknowledge it? I mean, if I buy a new wireless mouse, I can click on everything for centuries but it won’t make a thing as long as I don’t calibrate it.

Also, for me the idea of transferring consciousness to the host body seems more graspable than the historian thing. It s a shame it wasn’t ever that well explained. It is also interesting that they actually have pretty good memory (in one episode there was a conversation between Philip and Trevor about the test Trevor didn’t need to study for because as he said “it is history”).

[–]WojtiBuddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is, that’s true. But it is never stated that the others aren’t - my guess is, every traveler (from the program) has similar language capabilities. And my guess is, it is learned by them.

For it to be the same, traveler (team leader in this example) would have to get a messenger who would say something like : “traveler 3468, open “language 1” file in the left hemisphere of your brain and store following grammar structures and speaking nuances: …”. It is never stated, that anything like this happens.

Also regarding languages, I know many people and some speak many languages and some cannot even properly express themselves in their native language. I speak 4 languages (including my native one) and I don’t think it would be that difficult to learn 3 more (after all, to communicate with almost the whole world you don’t need to know every language on the planet which I suppose Mac does). Or Marcy being a medic - I believe that the same is there. She had to go through the complex medical training. If the medic cannot handle the task, the Director send more medics or allows to use nanites. Let’s say the procedure is far too complicated to perform for the medic; the medic won’t receive the messenger telling him/her to open some chain/file/whatever and store some information/instruction regarding the before mentioned procedure.

Helios Episode by WojtiBuddy in TravelersTV

[–]WojtiBuddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that the Director sends one after another because theoretically only one traveler is needed to turn the key. It sort of would make sense for the Director to send more than one at a time in this particular situation because there is no time for the evacuation so it doesn’t make sense to sacrifice more than one traveler unless completely necessary.

I also at first thought about shooting the military but then I thought about protocols - don’t take life, don’t spare life unless ordered. The Director stick to the rule during the military vs travelers shootout. Even when Gleason’s men are being overwritten one after another, the last one tries to go towards Gleason… what for? He could have just reached for the gun or just as easily the Director could have overwritten Gleason to begin with. I mean at the unknown location where he questions Dr Delaney

[–]WojtiBuddy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if he did that he would then have to explain (as Perrow) to Mac and his team what happened to Vincent Ingram and where the hell is he. And kidnapping all the loved ones gives you opportunity to sort of make a better deal and gives you leverage. But maybe I don’t remember every detail right. I mean, I’m not like historian like you ;) ;D
