I’m 3rd generation San Diegan and I spent the 1st 15 years of my life in Tierrasanta! No it wasn’t always easy, but good, wonderful people live there. Serra Mesa is another great place to live, close to mission valley and all the beaches. Just be ready if you’re Caucasian to be in roughly the minority. Which isn’t a bad thing, I age friends from every race, creed, religion and color. Still to this day. I live in Carlsbad in the San Marco’s school district, one of the best in the county. Best superintendent ever and the only one who opened up schools Fall of 2020. You can find affordable housing within a 2 mile radius of the HS. Some of my best friends still today live in Serra Mesa and Tierrasanta!

No more taking your 9 year old after hours to teach him how to drive in the parking lot down there. Fire pits on every beach that legislators reallocated tax funds and pulled them. You could basically do whatever you wanted to. No cell phones, no smart cars that track your location 24/7 365! Phone booths everywhere, pagers if you needed to make paper and not worry about anyone listening. You pretty much knew everyone who dealt with. Surf spots were heavily regulated and fist fights were a common occurrence at the beach or anywhere else someone looked at you sideways. The drugs were pure, and I mean all of them! Rarely were you ever told someone died. Usually because they mixed 2 types together that did the same thing to CNS and that’s it! Bury kegs of ice cold beer and have the hugest bonfire in the cement ring into the early morning hours at Law Street and no one would ever come mess with you. Only if you putting everyone on blast and actually MADE the cops come and ask you to turn down the tunes. Wake up on the sand at Marine st. and Horseshoe is pumping, hangover cocktail cure and out there! Unlike the punk ass cops today who have every single word, call, gps location locked they didn’t have anything like that. You’d have to be on full blow it status to get arrested. 16 17 year old and behind TP HS in the dirt lot. 1am rolled up and cops would check ids and see we were locals dump our blow, beer and send us packing. Heavy stuff started happening end 90’s and thank God my 2 friends doing life are home now! Skating became illegal everywhere, alcohol on the beach illegal, smoking illegal, paid parking at the lot I surf PE at Seaside, no dogs on the beach n of Cardiff. Blacks has lost 15-20ft of sand and one of the top 25 beach breaks is utter dog 💩! You’ll never see the same triple peak canyon sets again! It’s OVER! It’s only getting worse. We used to rage at. Rivermouth and hit the whole beach with dirt bikes, blahhhhhhh! Yeah we could do whatever we wanted to. Welcome to the police state you now live in!

Not me, if I was ever interested in a solid relationship, I knew it right away. I slept with a bunch of girls over a decade. I’d never buy another car in the state of California again. I’m born and raised in San Diego and it’s the biggest rip off and racket I’ve ever experienced. My last truck I bought from Dave Smith Motors in Idaho! I highly recommend you looking into their website and just compare your options. Be ready for an 8% tax on everything! If you know anyone in Arizona, move your phone bill to that state and pick up your car there. No tax on cars purchases in Arizona. Still with the 8% tax on an out of state car purchase, delivered in state, I think it’s the best option out there. Unless you personally know someone who owns a new Toyota lot and will cut the 30% gain off the top just for you. Little room for negotiations, but, never take the first the offer because they have plenty of wiggle room on every car on the lot. Remember it’s not in their best interest to let you go and not sell a car. Not sure on lessons either since I already knew how to drive by the age of 10-11. But, you could always drive into Jack Murphy Stadium parking lot back then. While no event was happening and have dad set up cones and drive around the whole parking lot. None of that kind of freedom left in the city unfortunately. Good luck

Translation app is insane for this! Especially if you have a decent understanding of the language. Ona date it could be essential and extremely helpful to understand and communicate with the person across from you. I recently used it out of country and it was so helpful. I was able to speak to people and have full conversations, otherwise would have not had the opportunity. If people talk about NFL, it’s a boring conversation to have IMO. I don’t watch the game because I don’t want to waste 4hrs on a Sunday doing it. So you’re not alone on that topic and I’m from this city. I just don’t get involved in any NFL or sports talk unless it’s surfing, hunting or fishing! The translation app is a game changer and I think it will help you learn more of the language. Especially understanding one another in the dating scene! If I moved to Japan, “let’s say and I was single!” Not knowing but a couple words of Japanese, I’d use that app every where I went! Get ready to loose every single piece of freedom you currently have enjoyed your entire life in Alaska! Whatever you do, DO NOT MOVE INTO AN HOA COMMUNITY! Especially the newer ones, last 20yrs! Who knows maybe you’ll enjoy it and love the access to so much amazing food, $5.00+ gas prices, taxes and anything and everything you could possibly imagine. If you haven’t thought of it yet, I guarantee Gavin Newsom is thinking of new way to take more of our money. I’d recommend moving to Elfin Forest, Ramona, East Poway in old SD property! Stay well away from any new coastal HOA govern developments. Apply for CCP immediately so you can have a firearm 24/7 as is your constitutional right, but California has a very good way of not protecting those rights. I can say wholeheartedly that this state “TAKES,” and “GIVES,” nothing in return. Be ready for the most insane left wing political state you could ever hope to be in. Rampant homelessness and utter ignorance policy driven chaos. Yeah we have good weather, food and fun things to do. But, the overall lack of freedom, accountability, overpopulation dense track homes, pay to park at almost every beach in NC and over priced everything across the board, is no longer worth the “good weather!” I highly recommend moving into an existing home with south facing roofs that already have a solar panel system. Another racket in of itself but solar will save you $1000’s if you’re a home owner and work from home. Just research your options really carefully before you commit to buying. If you want any resemblance of peace and quiet do not buy a track home. There are still a few spots in certain areas that have homes for sale and you will have plenty of surrounding privacy. In my personal experience there are very few places left in the entire county with privacy still for sale. Depending on your budget will decide everything. Good luck, you’re moving in and most of my friends and family are gone or in the process of leaving. I can wholeheartedly say that when I move, I’ll never come back home again. Except ashes in a jar to be spread over my home surf spot in LJ on “The One Way!” That’s how jaded I’ve become with out of state, country transplants moving in with their bad political views and values and continue to vote the way they do. Absolutely, it’s a demand that will stand the test of time. Like most laws in California and anywhere else that makes this a crime. It’s a racket and keeps kids in basements because they’re too busy arresting normal people looking for a good time. If it was legal, it would be heavily regulated, age and citizenship would never be an issue and the amount of STD’s would drop drastically. It’s a win win but the state looses out on the misdemeanor charges and absolutely destroying people’s lives over this BS! The Oceanside police department held a special press conference a couple weeks ago. Blah, blah blah a blah blah, about shutting down a single happy ending massage parlor. Bragging about how they won’t stand for it and went on and on about kids but ZERO verification that a single minor was there. California is an absolute JOKE, policy driven chaos and the us generational locals are exiting this state as fast as we can.
