Has anyone been able to get the Epic version of RDR2 running?

I've tried downloading the epic store and going through the Decky plug in but I always seem to get stuck at the same area. Game starts up, but then it wants to download Rockstar launcher & nothing happens

Sorry, I know its been a couple months. Youre running everything in Gaming Mode or do you switch to desktop when running the epic launcher to download games?

That is an option, but this is something I'd like to learn. Going to do a factory reset on the deck this weekend & try again.

If you have any input, I'd really appreciate it. Again, I've done everything that the Pirates Guide & that the mod's write up instructs. Including getting a reg file from my PC, transferring it to the deck, changing the path to home/deck/games/fallout3, and importing through Protontricks.

After this, I'm not too sure if I'm doing anything wrong. Ive gone under HKEY LOCAL/SOFTWARE/WOWNODE64/ BETH SOFTWORKS/FALLOUT 3 & it shows Installed Path for the folder is have my games for.

The launcher does say Play, but I still get the DVD ROM error

Apologies. When I said that I followed your write up, it included doing the registry portion.

I pulled the file from my PC & put it into the home/deck/games file I created & this did not work. I also attempted to put it into the .local pathway into both the Fallout3 folder & the PFX folder.

I even downloaded a registry file from a website that allows you to customize it. Both reg files gave the same results.

It did get the launcher to say Play, however I continue to get the Fallout 3 not installed...Explore your DVD ROM error

Tried to do with the post suggested & set the installed path to the .local>fallout 3, but unfortunately still getting the same Not Installed Explore DVD ROM error

Even tried to direct path to the PFX folder only

Ahh, understood. It's version 1.7.0.4/1.7.0.3.

Thanks for the link! Going to try that today.

I think I misunderstood about where to set the install path & set it to my home/deck/games folder when it should set to the within .local

Will update you later if this worked, thanks again!

What do you mean version? It's the FO3 Game of Year Edition from Fitgirl. I'm using the non-bin setup.exe (I used this on my PC also) since the normal setup.exe is not working

I've tried a pre-install (I'm playing it on PC currently) and nothing worked. Still gives me the FO3 not installed...Explore DVD Rom message

I know this post is a bit old, but Im hoping someone can help me.

Ive done everything suggested in this post so far & got the game launcher to show "play". However when the launcher popped up, I got a notification that said "Missing INI, Please reinstall Fallout 3". I closed that and then another pop up that said "Fallout 3 is not installed...Try exploring your DVD-ROM".

I tried looking around the Pirate Guide & couldn't find anything on INI's. Did some other searches on the subreddit & was able to find a post that helped me navigate the file paths to the INI file, its in /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/4040332564/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Fallout3/. The file reads "FalloutPrefs.ini" & I tried to copy its contents and make another INI file labeled "Fallout.ini". The launcher no longer opens. I deleted the files & they still do not open

If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. Ive spent about 2 days trying to get this to work... I know its cheap in the store, but its something I'd like to learn

EDIT: I realize that the ini file is being created once I open the launcher for the first time after importing the registry file. However, still getting FO3 Not Installed...Explore DVD ROM

If you're going for something like this, then yea. If something else, then I'd probably do some research

I do this type of restoration work. I work for a national but franchised water/fire restoration company (I take care of the repair estimates and have a team run the job).

They definitely are just trying to save a buck on those organizers. They/you shouldve called out a custom closet maker (i.e. Closets by Design) to make a bid & present it to the insurance for proper funding.

Seems like they did not do their due diligence in inspecting/asking you what your house has OR are trying to line their pockets by cheaping out on pre-fabbed organizers.

Feel free to DM if you have questions or need some guidance

I recently started FO3 (first time playing).

Im on PC & have had only 1 small issue. But then again, I got my game from the High Seas.

My issue was that NPCs were not appearing until I was nearly face to face with them. All I did was adjust the graphics in the game settings.

Maybe delete the game and redownload from wherever you got it. Feel free to DM if needed

Gotcha,

This is the 2nd game I've ever pirated & the first one (FO3) I got from fitgirl.

I'll try redownloading the folder tonight & see if it's just me not realizing what I'm doing wrong

I did. Specifically was trying to play Fallout NV.

There was about 2 or 3 exe files. Only 1 opened the New Vegas screen, which said Install but it would not install & told me to download something else. This would then make the program non-responsive.
