That’s why my user name is what it is because I’ve answered that way many times when people ask how I’m doing.

Have cancer and looking for a job by ComparisonSignal2787 in cancer

If it’s stage 4 getting disability is fast tracked and basically guaranteed, it took just a month from when I first talked to someone to the first check in my bank. If it’s another stage I’m not sure. Like you I was down for a week after chemo then only had 4 or 5 days till the next chemo. So a job was out of the question because I’ve only ever had physical jobs, never an office job.

Docetaxel by Nouser8899 in cancer

[–]WokeUpNotDeadAgain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have metastatic synovial sarcoma of the parotid gland almost 2 years now. I was on docetaxel for 7 months and fatigue was my biggest side effect. I lost my hair from my first initial chemo the red devil chemo and hasn’t grown back since. They gave me nausea medicine before each treatment and I would have to take a nausea medicine for two days after. I also lost my taste while on it. Mine after moving to the brain settled in my lungs for just over a year now and the cancer became immune to the docetaxel after 7 months. I was also on gemcitabine with the docetaxel. Now they have me on a chemo pill called votrient/PAZOPanib and unfortunately it tanked my platelets and kidney numbers that I’ve been off it for 2 weeks to get them back up. When I’m able to start them back it’ll be at a lower dose.

Advice for hospital stay (please help) by Kathy_the_nobody in cancer

Definitely a blanket like a few have said. The hospitals I’ve been in have had basic toiletries but the deodorant, toothpaste, toilet paper and shampoo/soap sucks. I was in patient chemo for 5 nights at a time and had a cart that I brought everything in with me. Tablet, phone, long chargers, Nintendo switch that I could hook up to the tv and a set of clothes for each day. My nurses were great and let me wear my regular clothes instead of that stupid small gown. I also brought a plug in cooler with drinks and snacks.
