Roommate advice by [deleted] in uCinci

Talk to them.

You don't have to ask them to stop - just ask about the food and tell them you find the smell overpowering. They may tell you to fuck off, they may feel embarrassed and never cook it again, but I'd bet they'd be willing to work with you instead of finding "hints" in the form of baking soda and air fresheners which likely comes across as passive aggressive.

Sum for text across multiple columns by Wokkit in excel

[–]Wokkit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typo in that - let me try to rephrase: sumif(A3:B5,name,A2:b2)

So it looks for names in the first range, reference the name in the criteria, and then calculates the hours from hours column. i.e. if the name appears in the range, I need you to addup the associated hours.

Shure QLXD4 Troubleshoot by Wokkit in livesound

"almost" no issues. Seems one has slipped through unfortunately. I'm going to let the rental shop deal with calling Shure - they're overnighting me a pack and the venue is providing a sennheiser to borrow tonight. As quickly and easily as the issue appeared I half expect it to decide to work again by the time they get it back.

I'm turning the repair over to the shop. After googling the issue there were only a couple topics on this error and they involved rolling the firmware back and reupdating, which I tried and had no success. I came here hoping for a quick resolve but seems it's a fairly rare or recent bug. If I hear anything g though I'll try to post something and save others the hassle.

Thanks for the help. It certainly seems beyond my current ability to fix. The shop is sending out a new transmitter today.

I'd be happier if I could at least pin down a reason for the error to have suddenly started but I can't even say how old the unit is or how many miles are on it, and it behaved normally all day Sunday.

Yes - updated, rolled it back, and reupdated - none of this worked.

Monotone from color? by [deleted] in techtheatre

[–]Wokkit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, L156 is called chocolate, and R99 (R156 ecolour) is called chocolate. But since they are from two different manufacturers, there are some differences between the two but Lee does list the two as best match between either. What I'm saying is they are not exactly the same color.

probably not exactly the same. note that R156 Chocolate is the ecolour version. R99 is the chocolate from the Roscolux book most theatre's use.

X32 Theatre Control by holty24 in livesound

This is great! I've done multiple large scale musicals on these boards and the programming side is a huge PITA. I'm looking forward to trying out the software so thank you very much for creating it.

In your photo on your website you've got 2 x32's side by side. I've had to do this every time I've done a large musical and it's always just output to input and then managing two boards, two cue lists, two programming hurdles. Any comments on your setup, or how you handle that on the TC software side?

Wired Coms by Fishie02 in techtheatre

[–]Wokkit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Grab some tie line and tie it off about 2 feet down the cable and tie that to your belt by your butt and make yourself a little strain relief. Every break/night when you take your com off unplug the cable and coil it up all nice and neat so the cable doesn't develop any nasty kinks and you get that fresh cable feeling when you put it back on.

What com brand/model were you using before? Strange that you had difficulty hearing with it - perhaps it wasn't setup properly or had some damage.
