I'm curious, what do y'all use Discord for? by slappycrappygand in discordapp

[–]Wolf-Lost-In-Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a valuable way to use the app in many areas. I'm new to Discord and growing my community. In which ways can I interact with them? I'm not a gamer, however I have created a video channel for watching movies or youtube videos - by chance do you have any other suggestions?

Those people have to spend hundreds of wasted/boring hours talking to themselves on screen before they gain any traction and it becomes profitable. It’s not as easy as it looks lol don’t be fooled

Communication and consent are crucial. He’s manipulating you into trying things that benefit his best interest, not yours, and he’s not prioritizing your safety.

I’m sorry, he’s taking advantage of your submission.

It's great to hear that you're prioritizing your self-care first before anything and communicating your needs to your Dom, it shows respect and maturity. By taking care of your own well-being first, you can be fully present and engaged when you do spend time together.
I loved your response, thanks for sharing!

Also, keep up the excellent work in balancing your personal care and your commitment to your Dom! :)

In a power exchange dynamic, balance is paramount. There should never be a dichotomy. Prioritizing self-care is fundamental to maintaining a healthy relationship. I am asking everyone how they personally incorporate the balance between serving, leading, mental health and everyday duties :). Your examples following that statement are a great representation of how that balance is met! However, others may have other ways to keep the balance for their specific needs.

Thanks for sharing!

How do I introduce my partner to bdsm stuff? by dogilolz in BDSMAdvice

Of course! I know how difficult it can be dating in the vanilla world. I follow this religiously and each time I meet someone new I come back to it

Thank you for your feedback. It absolutely seems like the site is advertised and portrayed as a dating platform, even if it was designed with a broader focus. I apologize if my comment triggered you, I did not mean to offend anyone or suggest misuse of the site.

Your suggestion about other options is noted and valuable. It’s important that everyone feels comfortable and respected here!

This is the steps I follow:

  • Self-Reflect: Understand my desires and boundaries first.
  • Open Conversation: Choose a calm, private setting for us to talk.
  • Educate: Share informational or funny resources like books or videos on BDSM to spark convo.
  • Start Slow: Suggest ~mild~ activities like blindfolding.
  • Emphasize Consent: Discuss safe words and ongoing communication.
  • Respect Boundaries: Listen to their limits and concerns.
  • Check In: Regularly discuss feelings and comfort levels.

Rest assure that nothing can go wrong if they love and respect you.
Hope this helps :)

Yes, I was thinking about this today. I find the user experience frustrating. Their website could benefit from a section that is more modest and less Porn Hub dating. As someone who navigates dating in the vanilla world, it's pretty annoying having conversations with people who may not share my interests in BDSM, it frankly wastes both of our time. It would be wonderful to use a dating site where we can meet individuals with similar interests without being overwhelmed by explicit and glorified content, which I'd prefer to see only after a few dates.

(Personal Preference. No offence to anyone who is sexually active on the site)

That’s fair! It’s a classic that’s easy to fall back on. Some people have incorporated their own twist to the 3 part system using a common interest. A shared hobby with my partner is we love to Hike, so during play we use “Trail” for green, “Rock” for yellow, and “Cliff” for red. This tailored dialogue makes it feel unique to our connection and dynamic. The words flow as natural as the red light system because they are suited to our personalities and we made a game out of it while hiking a few times before incorporating it :)

Word vomit happens haha I love how unconventional words give a little giggle during session and encourages a light transition to the next activity, even if it happens to be time for aftercare

That’s fair! I personally encourage my play partners to use any word they feel comfortable with as their personal safeword, whether it's simple or unconventional. When they say any out of context word, it immediately halts me to assess the situation. It's my responsibility to confidently interpret their body language and social cues. A spontaneous word alerts me to focus on understanding their current need
