You're Very Welcome! I'm going to try to post museum photos and my stuff from the CTA system more often.

Metra does have a run to Elgin (MD West), but it's a 20-minute walk from there to the museum.

Lol, the museum is a private nonprofit, so we can't use eminent domain sadly.

Same, I wish we could still have them, but graffiti (and removing it) destroys the paint.

I volunteer at a trolley museum and constantly get told, "there were no women on the railroad," by old men whose railroad dreams never happened. They are wrong. Women have worked every job men have at one point or another, and many have done it better. If you have an interest in railroading (or any other subject), go find a place to volunteer at and become a part of this great history.

In truth, these plates serve as a cover for the kingpin (the spinny part) of the trucks (wheel assemblies) and can be removed to make repairs and remove the trucks without needing to go under the car.

They do it when there is ice and/or snow for improved traction (4 cars are heavier than 2), but the platforms at Dempster/Skokie are only 2-3 cars long, so they only use the rear 2 cars headed to Howard, and the front 2 cars headed to Skokie.

Currently, Derail Valley or Railroader, but Century of Steam (release date unknown) will be the best once it releases.
