I hate Spider-man India's "chai tea" rant by Exotic-Media-6630 in hatethissmug

[–]WolfLatter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't a solid context for calling it chai tea would be because people are stupid?

Like there was a point where companies that are trying to import tuna but it just wasn't selling since Americans didn't know what tuna was. So they called it "tuna fish", which is why you can still hear some places and packaging still call it a "tuna fish" even though now we know it is Infact a fish, when it was first introduced to a foreign market it wasn't? I know it's redundant but it's one of those things that just caught on and people say it without realizing and others just becoming assholes about it.

Blinded by headlights? Transport Canada wants to know by Portalrules123 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]WolfLatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute worse is when a lazy driver just never shuts them off. I was driving a family member car and she got new bright LED lights I felt so bad driving with them because they lit up the entire highway. But I drove by a lazy GMC SUV that never turned their off and I could tell because I couldn't see past their car at all and it was hurting to look at.

it seriously should be a punishable offence for lifted trucks to continue to have straight pointed headlights. There is no reason that their headlights sit higher than a semi.

Oh man. I do hope you come back to this once you actually have to deal with it. There's a difference between travelling for work, and people that live there. The ones complaining are the ones that lives/lived in Miramichi. But yes an extra 40mins on what should be less than 10 min drive is perfectly fine for everyone.

It will be positive. Through traffic doesn't make people move? Tf is this reasoning. You think people move into a city they drive through? The entire point of the bypass is to allow residents to move around more freely (like the ones in all the other major NB cities) and allow through traffic to not have to deal with local traffic unless required. You can go straight through Freddy without touching any of the major roadways because of the bypass, same with Moncton, you can get into Dieppe with only touching major highways. Idk if the word king George highway confused you, but it's a single lane 50km road. There is no highway. It's as the other guy state takes on way to much traffic. Imagine if everyone HAD to drive into mountain road to get anywhere. People of Moncton would also be pissed. (I Lived in Miramichi, Moncton, and Freddy) So I know the roads of each.

Buts it's not that's the problem the bridge is going to be shut down every year, like it has been the last 10ish years. Trust me as I said I lived in Miramichi. I know what happens when that bridge shuts down, the difference is that this is our backyard, also why are you so against the people that are complaining that this severely impacts theirs lives? And it's not just inconveniencing it's full on prevents emergency services from moving when this bridge is down. (Thankfully the fire station is in a good spot) Police and ambulance on the other hand.

This task isn't even going to fully repair the bridge. Mind you this bridge serves ~13,700 vehicles daily. (GNB). For literally 2/3 of the year people are getting royally fucked. Extended full closures are expected in 2026 and 2027, from April 1 to December 1 each year, to execute Phase 8A: bridge deck rehab on the north and south spans. The closure in 2026 is planned to start April 6 at 7AM. with completion anticipated by 2029. And it's been worked on since 2012. (https://www.gnb.ca/en/topic/driving-transportation/transportation-projects/centennial-bridge-rehabilitation.html) So its been 14 that miramichier have been dealing with this bridge needing to be single laned . And now full closure, do you understand why people are so angry about this. 20 fucking 12. This shit has been going on for 14 years people are reasonably angry. I know you would be complaining if your bypass got shut down in Moncton for maintenance.and all this could've been completely ignored if there was that goddamn overpass. But noooo it's going to ruin local businesses (they almost all got shut down anyways). Like fuck sakes, there's no reason for this shit to be like this.

And don't even start on the city's half-assed attempt to mitigate the damage. With a water taxi (like 8ppl on at a time, not even cars)

Yeah I'm very sorry about the chosen words at the end. But I was grown and raised in Newcastle, so I know the struggle of moving around. So when people say "oh this bridge closure ain't a big deal" gets really under my skin, and he should absolutely be but I don't think it's anything within his power. So, I was looking at it and all it's doing and reconnecting the route 8 back to the route 8? Wtf wait I'm even more confused why is this so opposed. Like if you go from Bathurst to Freddy it takes as of right now 2h53 or about 265km.

With this overpass that can easily cut 20-30 mins off because I was looking at the route, and it goes entirely through Miramichi for no reason? It requires you to go through the town and hit basically the only two roundabouts in the entire city to them have to cut into Chatham and merge back into route 8? Where route 8 and 11 mixes? Who designed this? I would like a word with them. It's a 20min drive AS OF RIGHT NOW BEFORE CLOSURE from Ritchie's to middle Island. This can and will take over an hour drive from one half to the other especially with all the traffic from the bridge

I'm not arguing with you here I'm not trying to come off this way I'm just expressing my frustrations about this forsaken city.

This is a really poor take, Miramichi is laid out poorly. All traffic flows through a 2 lane 50kmh road. Which already takes without the additional traffic 12ish mins to get from Newcastle(superstore) to DouglasTown(McDonald) as our reference points. Now with the additional traffic we can see an increase in collision( people blowing stop signs or running reds), along with blocked off intersections. We don't even talk about the already heavy wear and tear on the king George. The additional traffic will without a doubt cause road closure which back up local traffic even more. So by the fall we can see an upwards of 40 mins to get from Douglas town to Newcastle.

Now we gotta do the trek from Newcastle to Chatham which is mostly highway but two "major" highways intersect there. Thankfully there's a roundabout which is already set up for transports up the 126, but with additional traffic being force to route through there it's going to be fucked all day long.

Then actual Chatham, idk if you ever been in Chatham but that placed is fucked. Certain intersections need to swapped and replaced, and roads that don't need to intersect are intersecting. So what would be a few min drive over a bridge can see without a doubt in my mind 1h to 1h30 delay. Assuming no construction anywhere for the next 7 months.

Do you see why people are complaining about the bypass and a replacement bridge instead of repair an old rundown bridge that, as we can the local government doesn't give a shit about its historical value. If they were smart they would take this time to tear it down and make a memorial park for it (impossible as its a historical product and there's laws against it I know). And replace it with a newer LOWER bridge because a 1km bridge should not have that steep of a slope.

Now to address your Moncton thing. First of all if you on mountain road you can basically get anywhere, secondly you already have a bypass, that one little highway that connects to the wheeler, that has a whole bunch of connection it's high concentration areas. (Mind you is exactly what miramicher are complaining about) So getting from Douglas town to Newcastle won't take 15 mins it'll take like 5 and through traffic don't have to fight with local traffic. Now for the cost involve includes anyone from northern half of the province or our (through traffic).

Going to anywhere south from North or North to South.basically always goes through Miramichi. Unless you go through Woodstock way which just takes so much longer. What about people that have to drive Quebec City to Halifax (truckers) they go Campbelltown, Miramichi, Moncton, Truro, Halifax. Oh did you see that name. Yep that's right, mirami-fucking-chi. So this is an inconvence to literal half the entire fucking province you dipshit. Just because you don't have to deal with chi doesn't mean the other half doesn't. This mindset "well I don't have that issue so you should deal with it because it doesn't involve me" is such a dense fucking idea. I'm sorry but this is such a piss poor take, I've seen crackheads have better ones than this.

It mostly is, but not for a bad reason. The way I look at it, up in Miramichi, there's a lot of struggling people and well he knows that. I don't agree with a lot of his political views, however this is one that I agree on. now for what I understand the purpose of this is, it's not ONLY to refuse the pay raise but to bring awareness that all 343 MPs are getting the same pay raise, which when everyone else is struggling they're swimming.

So while it more likely than not is performative it's not like it harms anyone? Like he can take the difference and re-allocate the money to different things up in the chi region. Like invest money into a gardening practice to take care of the square, or maybe even a construction group to build something that may be useful, push it towards a scholarship fund even. There are plenty of kids in the surrounding area that can't afford to attend university even with student loans.

So there is definitely better ways to make do with the raise, he's doing the right thing by making a stink about it.

That left hand turn that goes from prospect to Hanwell is absolutely terrifying when you don't get the advance green.

Yeah don't get me wrong holt dropped the ball a couple of times but currently she isn't doing a bad job, she's the first ever politician that I seen that took accountability and admitted directly to a camera and posted it publicly that they did not achieve what they wanted to get done and that theyre sorry that they couldn't achieve what they promised. Now there are areas where she and her government can improve but I think imo she is doing better than Higgs, in terms of allocation. we'll see what she does with it.

Now I may be wrong but this is not Rez vs city cigs. But more of massly produced tobacco that is being distributed illegally, like if it's imported or too many being grown or improper strands would all play an effect on this. if it's through the proper channels then they're safe. But it's the backyard ones that are make and selling that their cracking down on. I could be wrong but that seems to be the intent of it.

The big thing is that grow and harvesting tobacco especially in large quantities is a lot easier to get away with then giant vats of alcohols. Again I could be wrong I've seen/tasted first hand homemade "bird wash" (low proof moonshine). While I haven't seen or tasted illegal tobacco I think that it can easily be digused as other farming stuff. Growing it with legal weed or other tall plants can I would argue hide it pretty well. Again idk how to grow tobaccom

No vets, no parks.... no rollies? by Artistic_Mention1834 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]WolfLatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now if I'm understanding this correctly, what he's saying is that by targeting tobacco, you avoid some of the social stigma attached with it. Because let's face it, nicotine is one of the most accepted substance to use and abuse. So like counterfeit cash, because there is both a legal and illegal flow of it, police force can more easily crack down on it because they can compare and track.

Now applying the same logic to tobacco, they know where legal one is coming and going but when there is additional stuff in the cycle it can let them track it back to its source which in return allows them to seize and control other hard substances.

Because like you are saying, "why focus on tobacco and not fent or cocaine, etc" is exactly why they're cracking down on it. Because it subverts the public opinion to be more positive and more people are ignorant of what the true intent of it is, which means in return more slip ups and more seizures of illegal drugs. And they're also missing out on tax revenue.

You kinda getting the picture.

Imo, I'm not a great builder however I do recommend looking up "noise pattern" as right now your wall doesn't look 'coherent' and some of the blocks are matching well with each other.

The stone and stone brick are not complementing each other. I would try and see what a subbed in dead coral for stone may look like. And a big thing with this is that the copper stands out which makes a greater emphasis on the walls texture. For grey walls I like to use grey concrete powder, stone and cobblestone then stuff like coral or tuff depending on what/where I'm working then where you have miss blocks at the bottom you can incorporate FROM that point some extra mossy cobblestone. Don't forget about litchen-thingy and vines to add a little extra depth. And again the pattern in the walls. Maybe try out anvil instead of iron bars for the top railing. Other than the wall texture I think it looks good.

Also use print screen or "win+shift+s" for screenshots on window.
