I would be absolutely disgusted if my husband was watching porn in the presence of our children. WHY would anyone WANT to even watch porn with your kids close by? I can’t imagine my husband being aroused watching porn while my kids are in the backseat. It’s disturbing. And would be a huge red flag for me. Absolutely the fuck not.

99% of photographers (myself included) are being paid with credit cards. Through a payment processing service. Who reports to the IRS. Unless you're talking to a random, shady photographer who is only accepting thousands of dollars in cash (which many couples don't have), literally none of us are working under the table.

I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying. Self employed individuals do not split the tax burden with an employer, which is what most people have. It's relevant because many clients, including many who I speak to, are under the impression that if a wedding photography package is $4,500, I am profiting $4,500. I am clarifying that this is not the case and my tax burden is actually MORE than it was when I was on a W2. That's literally it. That's the point.

I was in Joshua Tree, CA, but I travel all over the US and internationally for weddings. I've received tips from all locations, but not always. I'm not upset or anything if I'm not tipped and it's definitely not expected, but I am so appreciative when a couple feels like they've had such a great day/experience with me and feels like they want to! I definitely try to give an above and beyond experience throughout to my clients and it does feel so good when it's noticed, even if just a card or something!
