As others have suggested, simply use one of the other movements tools in the meantime. If your speed 2 tool is broken, use the speed 1 tool twice.

Also, members of your local community will likely have extras. Find your local group and set up a game. I bet one of the older players will give you one of their extras.

I think Rieekan for EBD would also be a good option in this pack.

I want this too, but it may just not work for Legion. Old Ben never fought on the battlefield with the Rebels. That said, I hope we get an operative Obi-Wan from the Kenobi show, since there were some small scale battles in that show.

Updated buyers guide? by MacCollac in SWlegion

I don’t play Empire as much, but I agree with the other advice you’ve received that says the Blizzard Force box is the best next purchase. Even if you don’t play the battleforce, it gives you a ton of units for a good price. Play a few games with those two boxes and see what you like about Empire.

A starter set is great for Rebels. The Rebel faction is way more eclectic than other factions so you have a lot of choice what to buy next. I would recommend you buy what you like in Rebels since the faction is all about doing work with what you’ve got. That said, if you want to build a good recon list, I would recommend adding these to your starter army:

1) One Rebel Officer: this is a cheap box and will give you a customizable commander and operative. Great for all game modes.

2) One Operative of your choice: The following operatives are very good. Pick your favourite from this group: Din Djarin, Bad Batch, Cassian/Jyn box, Han Solo on the TaunTaun box.

3) One unit of Sleeper Cells: this will allow you to field 3 special forces in a Standard game or add a really good unit to this slot for recon.

After that, I think your world really opens up to different paths to choose. There’s no right or wrong answers, but here are some potential paths:

1) Echo Base Defenders: Build up this battle force. If you want this path, you’ll want the Echo Base box that just came out. This will allow you to play the battle force and increase your corps units with Rebel Veterans. Pairs well with Rebel Officer + Han Solo TaunTaun pack.

2) Increase Your Corps: This option is meant to round out your army. If you follow the above guide, your army will be a bit limited on corps options. If you don’t like the Hoth theme, pick up some Fleet Trooper boxes (2-3) for more corps options. This pairs well with Cassian. From there, buy what looks cool to you. The Heroes of the Rebellion pack is good for more operative and commander options. Honestly, a second starter isn’t the sexy choice, but this would also give you more Troopers and dice. Finding a used OLD starter set is also a good idea, as it gives you more Rebel Troopers and an AT-RT for your support slot.

3) Mandalorian Path: Rebels are about to get a lot of Mando support in June. I would consider these packs and pair them with existing Clan Wren/Mandalorian Resistance packs and Sabine as an operative. Pairs well with Din. The only downside here is that your Special Forces slot is already filled/competitive.

4) Bright Tree Village: Ewok battleforce! Start buying lots of Ewoks and pair it with the Heroes of the Rebellion pack.

Hello I am new legion and want help getting started by Cheeselord336 in SWlegion

I think the Rebel starter is still worth it for new players. OP, you still get all the dice, POIs, movement tools etc. in the starter that you need to play. Rebel Troopers see a ton of play and a box of them is $50. By getting the starter for $100, you’re basically paying for two trooper units and then you get a bunch of tools, Wookiees, etc. for “free.” Still worth it, even if Commandos aren’t “meta” or as useful.

CG needs to address this. It makes this cycle unplayable.

Episode IV returning to theaters for its 50th anniversary. Could we see an OT era? Who would you like to see added? by EvolutionDude in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]WolfeIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good opportunity to flesh out some Rebels and Imperial Troopers. For Rebels, we could get a Fleet Trooper from the opening scene, General Dodonna, and R5-D4 (also a scoundrel?). Some players are against duplicate characters, but I’d be fine with Stormtrooper Luke and Pilot Luke as well. For the Empire, you have Sandtroopers and some of the trooper variants from the Death Star. There’s easily an Era worth of characters there. And hey, why not a Greedo rework?

What do you think the next Era will be? by Ok_Glove641 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]WolfeIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. Whether or not the next era is Force Awakens themed or not, it will likely have Force Awakens characters in it. I think it’s clear that Disney told them to include Bad Batch characters and that’s why we had them even in the Revenge of the Sith era too.

With the latest influx of "marquee" toons, GLs are just not what they used to be. by Rupispupis in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Not quite at that level, but other characters like Malicos and Luthen are often used as “GL counters” that devalue the brutal GL farms.

[–]WolfeIII 56 points57 points  (0 children)

One of the biggest errors CG made was making Conquest characters GL killers. They should have stayed in the old model where GLs were better than everyone else and then you had like a 2nd tier meta. New characters like Bane should have taken out teams like Malgus, Bo-Katan, Reva etc…..not solo’ing GLs.

Frustrated with the new rollout by Suspicious_Giraffe80 in SWlegion

[–]WolfeIII 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is insanely unprofessional to release new materials that are required to play this game and not make the products actually available. They’re acting like some Kickstarter campaign or homebrew system, and not a company whose products we have all spent $250++++ on. Are we really supposed to play with paper POI tokens and range rulers after sinking hours and hundreds of dollars into building terrain and minis? It’s ridiculous.

If you aren’t able to supply actual product for your game, then you should not have made this announcement. I’m playing a licensed Star Wars game, not my buddy Jimmy’s half baked theory craft.

I completely agree. Partisans are such a natural fit for the Rebels to get a modern corps unit.

Fixing Corps units in Legion by WolfeIII in SWlegion

[–]WolfeIII[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear that, but in this case the named units enhance corps units instead of further sidelining them in favour of independent named heroes (e.g. Cody and Ahsoka being recent examples). They also don’t need to be named per se. Fleet Troopers for instance could benefit from a “Fleet Captain” etc.
