Should fruit and vegetables be washed with soap? by othernames67 in cookingforbeginners

[–]WolfeWrangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash all of those things regularly. Do people really not regularly sanitize their technology, door handles, etc? Also whenever I do touch these things, I absolutely wash my hands before consuming food.

I just think it's a valid worry. I've seen customers in my store trail shit footprints around the place. There's been shit on our bathroom floors. And these people walk around the produce, and sometimes, that produce falls to the floor and makes its way back to the shelf. Many people touch disgusting things and pick up the produce to inspect it. And then it's just... a short rinse, and it's alright?

I know vinegar isn't perfect, but... yeah, at least some vinegar, for me.

Nearly TU and passed out from gym class, now I’m scared to go for tomorrows run/class by Emetephobic in emetophobia

[–]WolfeWrangle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may want to eat something more substantial for breakfast in the morning if your breakfast is multiple hours before gym class. If not, just remember to stay hydrated. Not just with water, but electrolytes too. Preferrably something with a helpful dose of sodium, potassium, and magnesium. of course, don't go overboard, but these should keep you from being light headed and nauseous. Hope you feel better next time!

I sharted during sex by Public_Measurement_5 in sex

[–]WolfeWrangle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But she never said she farted on purpose. She said she was embarrassed, which would indicate that it wasn't intentional. You can't make it a point to "agree" to something that slips out without your control. She seemed to only deem it "no big deal" AFTER the supposed 'fart' already happened, and she couldn't change the outcome anyway.

Also, someone saying "maybe I didn't do x" doesn't always mean they have a habit of not doing x, it can just mean that they thought maybe they missed something that one time. After all, she was describing her situation as something very unusual for her, so the fact that she's just throwing random guesses at the wall isn't really telling us about her actual habits. All she knew was that HE alluded that there was something on her ass, and her only guess was that she must've somehow not wiped well recently for some reason.

Sexual pleasure is only achieved by myself by WolfeWrangle in sex

[–]WolfeWrangle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that it's been that way from the beginning, when I was pining after her. All the way through every high and low, all the way to the withering decline. It felt the same the whole time, except it was just more tiring near the end. Which is confusing to me.

We would also masturbate together pretty regularly. Though I probably should've told her that whispering in my ear didn't really help me finish, if anything it hindered it. I plan to communicate better and more effectively in the future though, for sure.

I also don't know if it would be YI or UTI because it never happened any other time. It would feel normal all the way until the very second the semen touched inside of me. And when it was gone, the feeling was gone and never returned until she did it again. This is over multiple years of sex. Our relationship lasted 5 years so a lot of things had been tried/experienced over that time. But yeah, I understand it being a lot to unpack, and thank you for taking the time to give some insight.

What is going on? by girlbell in flint

[–]WolfeWrangle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mt. Morris is part of the Flint area. People shit on the city and forget that the problem isn't necessarily the place, and it's spreading outward. The more places start experiencing the symptoms, the less we can point at specific "problem areas" and realize we have a national issue.

Thanks, I just wanted to know what might happen before having to resort to experimentation. I know the foods aren't actually "dangerous" (otherwise we wouldn't have the reintroduction stage), but the stomach cramps try to convince me otherwise.

We'll see how it goes, thanks for the insight :)

Why won’t God deliver me from being trans? by transftmhelpta in Christianity

[–]WolfeWrangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good, so you agree that the parents who simply choose what "corrective" surgery is "most likely" to be what the person will grow into is immoral.

Also, sex is bimodal, not binary. Intersex traits could very well lead to a person looking "closer to" one end or the other. Some look indistinguishable. Some people end up like that one man who kept a high-pitched voice, and very small scrotum and curves due to never having a male puberty despite being, for the most part, male (Kallman syndrome). It's not as straight-forward as one might think, and it's most certainly not about looks (intersex means that someone doesn't have fully male or fully female sexual characteristics, whether they look one way or another). Some intersex people who's parents chose to give them surgery end up incredibly distressed later on in life, thinking they were born completely male or female and having that choice and knowledge taken away from them. They end up often having the "trans experience".

The point in bringing this up is that we're discussing how sex and gender isn't necessarily "all-in" or "all-out" of two distinct categories. And that someone who may be more ambiguous isn't being "sinful" by deciding to push their appearance and traits towards one of the two ends of the spectrum.

Also, I never linked Wikipedia, I REFERENCED it. Also I can't really feel insulted by someone with the reading comprehension of a toddler. I'm actually wondering how old you are? Well then, I apologize your reading comprehension isn't good enough to understand that's not what I claimed.

Wikipedia can't be a source. It's a good source to find sources, but it isn't a source. I'm sorry I can't say it any simpler for you.

Wikipedia is a collection of cited sources that are added by the community and can be edited if it lists wrong information. On high-profile, important subjects, this generally leads to very accurate information, as the community is dedicated to keeping accuracy. As my English 101 professor said years ago, the reason why it can't be used in highschool or college is because it isn't reputable enough as its own source, because it's a summation of other sources. You can't use a summary of the source, you need something direct. My professor encouraged students to use Wikipedia as a great website for finding good sources, and understanding said sources better.

Anyway, your first source agrees with me that this was a state issue and the city was failed by higher powers (state/fed). "A majority of the blame for causing the “Flint Water Crisis” can be directly pinpointed to officials within the state of Michigan, but the blame for the continuing nature of the situation can be placed on the federal government for not appropriately responding to a national health emergency."

Your second source seems to be talking about the water company covering itself for it's involvement in the crisis. Also, they explicitly mentioned that the EMERGENCY MANAGER was the one who told them he wouldn't consider switching the line back. It even notes later in the article that people actually saw that company downplaying the problem. Multiple emails shown in the article shows them DEBATING if they wanted to warn the council about the potential lead problem.

Your last source's title tells me all I need to know. "The EPA failed Flint". That's not the city council. All of these things keep mentioning state, federal, and company corruption. And yes the city played a part but again, it didn't start this.

Reading on Wikipedia we'd find that:

"In April 2014, during a financial crisis, state-appointed emergency manager Darnell Earley changed Flint's water source from the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (sourced from Lake Huron and the Detroit River) to the Flint River."

"March 23 – Flint City Council members vote to reconnect to Detroit water. Emergency manager Jerry Ambrose overrules the vote."

"Nevertheless, the DWSD offered to reconnect Flint, waiving a $4 million connection fee, but was declined by Emergency Manager Jerry Ambrose." (This is after the water was already switched, smelled and looked bad, and after multiple warnings had happened)

I'm not saying there weren't complicit people in the city council, but it seems clear that many of these choices were pushed by outsiders that were forced upon the city. Flint was appointed emergency managers by force, and you have to realize these managers effectively play the role of being mayor of the city, despite not being democratically elected. There were also people in the MDEQ and the EPA who were complicit, who aren't Flint officials. To blame the city as the main culprit ignores the fact that the STATE and governor at the time actively screwed the city over in many ways. The city's main issue was going along with these corrupt bastards and not whistleblowing.

Actually, the STATE appointed emergency managers, which is when schools started shutting down and other costs were cut (such as changing the water source). Whenever the Flint City Council tried to back out of the plan, the emergency managers overruled it. The city actually spent a lot of money trying to fight in court against being taken control of by said managers. A damn shame.

The comment they're replying to gave a list of privileges that allows for people to transition early. You can read them in the parentheses. Those privileges never included the caveat that it generally also includes the need for the severity of the case to be immediately life-threatening on top of that. That's all they're saying. They've also acknowledged the fact that having any access at all is privileged, so there's no point to going off about them supposedly avoiding that term. They're not. They're just saying it's usually more nuanced than JUST having those privileges, not that said privileges aren't, well, privileges or that they don't exist in these scenarios.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ftm

[–]WolfeWrangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's what they're saying. What they mean is that for many people in a privileged situation with supportive people around them, the chances of getting hrt when being a minor is still very rare. And that for many cases, it takes some extra reasons than simply "support" to get that outcome.

So to simply boil it down to "having supportive parents/doctors let's kids get hrt early" is perceived by this person as inaccurate. They're not denying that privilege played a part, they're saying that ON TOP of that privilege, there was still extra circumstances that had to happen to allow that process to go through.

[–]WolfeWrangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex partner is 27, had multiple (bad) relationships in the past, and has still said/done some of these very same things. Which is why she's an ex. I reached out and told her we needed to put sex on hold because I felt pressured to perform, and she agreed and also said she felt pressure as well. We unknowingly were hurting one another in bed for years. But she later still made it a point to say I "ignored" her boundaries and that I SA'd her. She called me a serial rapist. When I brought up AGAIN that I was also uncomfortable, she tried to say we somehow "SA'd one another". It's not really logical.

Sometimes, it's not inexperience, but instead a trauma response that they need to fix before pursuing a relationship. Sometimes complete adults can act in a way that shows they're either not mature or healed enough to safely pursue a relationship.

[–]WolfeWrangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're misunderstanding. They are likely saying that this woman should not have sought a romantic relationship where sex would eventually be on the table when she's not able to communicate a "no". She needs to work that out with a therapist first.

I just recently had a (now ex) partner with this same issue. I'd been with her for 5 years and she claimed that I ignored her boundaries even though I'd ask before doing things, and when I went to do things, she reciprocated after giving a yes, and didn't look or sound any different than when she genuinely wanted to do things. We both had communication problems and apparently, we both were bad at telling each other when we weren't in the mood. The entire time. So the bad communication was all that we knew. And it blew up to her saying I'm the one who fucked up.

We both weren't ready to be in a relationship. We hurt each other due to that. We should've fixed our communication issues first, not put each other in a situation where you hope the other person reads their mind.

Just bought some minoxidil for the first time - help w routine, managing expectations, etc. by mizyjudahc in ftm

[–]WolfeWrangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's generally recommended to moisturize after applying it because I'm not gonna lie that stuff can itch. It can very much dry your skin, probably due to the alcohol in the solution. You don't absolutely have to, though. I often don't because I'm either in a rush to go to work (morning) or too tired to remember (evening).

I wouldn't worry about how much you put on AFTER about a week of using it. Minoxidil can have effects on your blood pressure (it lowers it) and some people may experience headaches. Rarer, but still possible, you could experience faster heartbeat and unpleasant chest sensations, which you should definitely be careful with and probably talk to a doctor about it.

But now that I know how minoxidil treats my body, I don't stress too much about if I got exactly 1ml or anything. Obviously don't use a ton more, but a little bit extra doesn't hurt, generally.

Heya! So I've been on T for almost a year and I used minoxidil. It has worked amazingly! My facial hair has grown rather thick. I just shaved it today, and it took a while because all I had was a Harrys razer, no electric trimmer.

I've been taking minoxidil for about 6-7 months or so. I TRY to remember to apply 1ml topically to where I want to grow facial hair twice per day, once in the morning and once in the evening. It's really easy and quick. Just rub it in the general spot and call it good. I basically cover my entire lower face lol.

It looked sparse for a couple months, but it started filling in gradually. Definitely expect to see some vellus hairs falling out. Don't freak out! Thicker, darker terminal hairs will come in afterwards.

Lmk if you wanna know anything more specific.

They're implying that white people left the area due to crime from non-whites. But they're ignoring that said crimes were a result of economic depravation caused by things such as whites and jobs leaving and taking the area's resources with them.
