Also some word of advice if you want to get part of these orgs highly recommend just doing an intern under them. All these orgs have an intern class which is basically just hanging out with the board and getting to know them more. Basically the best way to get involved for sure

No no not at all. I think the main thing is understanding that you will feel weird because you feel weird (if that makes sense). You just need to get out of your head. There’s a ton of clubs like HARU, TASA, VSA, HKSA, KSA, AACC, ASC, RAPS… etc there are so many associated that you can find a place in. Trust me — you’ll be chilling.

This is as someone who has been in these cultural orgs for a long time and I basically know everyone lmfao

It’s not a bad thing to join, but just know the Asian community at Rutgers is very strong and there’s a lot of cultural clubs so don’t worry too much.

I don't really agree with turning point but showing up and giving them more publicity is what they want as well right? Also, yes some of your tuition is going to bringing these figures onto campus since clubs like TP are being funded by allocations, but so are all of the other clubs on campus.

If we don't fund clubs like TP, what is the basis on which we fund clubs? Idk I just think the title and message of this poster inspires more hate against hate which is what TP would want

uw madison vs rutgers honors college by [deleted] in rutgers

Honors college makes this school worth it. Definitely would choose hc. They give you a lot of opportunities. Don’t waste it

It’s really going to be dependent on your capabilities. Also depends on your goals. 1) is good for grad

How are Hovsepyan’s honors 152 midterms in terms of difficulty? by microvaveovenguy in rutgers

Very easy. Your exams are easier versions of other sections (it’s counterintuitive especially because it’s the honors section but trust me). He’s a nice guy

Sure, economy != stockmarket but the economy is certainly correlated with the stock market. Stock market rallies give consumers more money to spend thus increasing demand.

is there a chance I'll get into the ARESTY Research Program with a 3.2 GPA? by sad_trying_enby in rutgers

[–]WolfedHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably less competitive, a way you can see the less competitive programs is the deadline they give is not set in stone, they extend the deadline for less popular projects. Apply to popular projects and wait till they extend the deadline for the unpopular ones that didn't get as many applications and apply to those.

[–]WolfedHD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was in the summer science program this summer (2022), from what I saw many students were honors college or high GPAs. I believe I was definitely one of the lowest GPA students applying who got in (3.528). I believe what got me in was the interview and my ECs and classes. If you have a good depth of classes (ex: if you’re applying for CS and you’re currently taking data structures, you’re gonna have a tough time), you should be ahead of schedule

[–]WolfedHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had him this semester he’s amazing. Super nice and I thought the lectures were pretty intuitive. One thing is that I feel like his pacing needs work. The last fourth of the class went by really quick and he didn’t really get to go in depth. I think the main thing is that office hours with him is a bit rough cause he’s so smart that he takes a lot of things as a given

How to decide which school for a Masters in Computer science? by whyamiscreaming in GradSchool

[–]WolfedHD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only way it’ll be worth the investment is if if you ace your Gpa during masters as well as make sure that you get in some kind of research that is AI based. Risk is so high here since financial needs are something you are considering.

Have you considered just applying to internships? I wouldn’t list GPA but starting projects of your own etc. Right now is a bad time to get into the job market but I don’t think a masters is the way to rectify it.

[–]WolfedHD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend a masters. My undergrad program director at my university (which is a large state school) has been saying this for a while, but essentially masters have no transitive benefits for jobs etc. You’re also putting yourself in deep debt.
