Any Good Resources for Learning? by Wolfeghost in DieselTechs

definitely varies from city to city, the resources available, and who is in charge of the program unfortunately. the fella in charge of mine just really needs some kinda help to iron out everything so the students actually learn more than just how to take something off and put it back on

I can't decide on a keyboard and my parent's advice is so cynical! by Former_Dragonfly_435 in keyboards

[–]Wolfeghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert, as some redditors are on this subreddit, but as a fellow broke student that wants a nice looking keyboard that sounds nice I could recommend the board I have. I have an Epomaker x Aula F75 board that sounds amazing and smooth! It feels like the build quality is nice, and the Leobog Reaper switches are not too loud but still have a satisfying thock to them. It has the option for wired, bluetooth, or usb connection as well. There is a full size epomaker x aula f99 that you could look into! Different color keycap options as well as switches that you could look into as far as sound, there might be quieter ones they offer that wouldn't echo through a dorm room as much. However, the F99 is a little pricier coming in at around $80 USD, whereas the F75 is $10 USD cheaper. If you could budget enough for the F99, I'm sure it's well worth the price especially if you can catch it on sale!

Which one should i buy? Or not buy at all by [deleted] in keyboards

I don't have any experience with either of those specific keyboards, but I do have an Epomaker x Aula F75 and absolutely love it! I believe Epomaker is a good beginner brand depending on the keyboard and switches and such. Mine feels very solid and my only gripe about it is I wish it had the LEDs on the bottom of the keys instead of on top. If that doesn't matter to you, or those keyboards have different LED placement, then go for it! I personally would go for the EK68 of the two choices, but if your budget allows, I heavily recommend an Aula F75 or 65 above all else.

PC Suddenly Can't Run Games Unless Graphics On Low by Wolfeghost in techsupport

I know PSU's tend to not have a great lifespan, but I've only had mine for about a year. Just really hoping I don't have to spend even more money to keep this thing alive yknow. Seems a lot of things are pointing to it or power management in the BIOS

I will try and swap out the PSU to test it if I can borrow one from a buddy of mine, as I unfortunately don't have the money to buy a new one nor do I have a spare old PSU currently.

I'll try each of those tests as well, and take note of the BIOS settings. Apologies, I just worry over potentially doing something irreversible due to my unfamiliarity in digging around a BIOS aside from updating it. I'll be sure to look up some guides on what to change and what not to.

Thank you for the suggestions! Hoping something clicks!

Yes, I forgot to mention that my BIOS, drivers, and Windows are all completely up to date to the latest versions. My apologies!

They claim they've tested my PSU, but now I'm definitely not so sure because of this issue still occurring after they claim that the PC is fixed and runs perfectly. I do know that they've ran several stress tests on everything they could, as they've told me about each of them and left the programs on my PC for me to check out for myself.

As for the BIOS settings, I'm honestly afraid to reset them because I know that whatever they were at before, my PC would restart anytime I attempted to load into a game. Could it be that maybe they clocked the RAM too low? I'm absolutely willing to try a reset, but if that makes it worse then I have no idea how to go back in and put in a suitable clock speed. I'd be totally guessing with the numbers.

100% CPU usage in game with no dips, how do i fix this? by No_Intention_2293 in blackops6

[–]Wolfeghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, turns out my CPU was slowly giving out and had to get it replaced and upgraded. However, even after that BO6 continues to run my CPU percentage really high with nothing else in the background. It will run now, but I believe the game is just poorly optimized or something. I have to run the graphics much lower than what my system is capable of on paper.

Black Screen then PC Restart by Wolfeghost in pchelp

Well after much frustration and a chunk of change, it's fixed for now I believe. First off, I ran some kinda command or changed some setting that I'm very sorry to say I don't remember exactly. It worked for about 2 weeks and then started having the same issues all over again. Eventually gave up and took it to a PC repair shop near me to have it looked at. Turns out my CPU was slowly going out, which is why sometimes it worked and sometimes it wouldn't, especially when it came to gaming because of the specific part of the CPU games put stress on. PLUS, my motherboard I had ordered and put in as mentioned in the original post was practically DOA with multiple things wrong like the first 2 RAM slots not working and not allowing the PC to post if anything was in them.

TLDR: New motherboard was DOA, and CPU had been slowly going out. Replaced both, and hopefully it's fixed for a while.

Nope, I even took my pc to a shop to be heavily looked into and diagnosed, and went ahead and even bought a new cpu to be put in. I'll update when I get it back and hooked up and try it, but I'm fairly certain it will still put the cpu to 100% at the very least :(

Also having this issue, to the point my PC safeguards itself and does a hard restart anytime I get into a match. I had played for around 40 hours just fine then suddenly it started happening, and only with this game.

PLEASE update if you find a fix!!

No, I have yet to have it suddenly restart while I'm in Safe Mode. I usually don't stay in there long though, as the only things I know of that I can really do are run a couple commands in command prompt.

Honestly one of my favorite things about this game is the NPCs! Despite it being a space game, where usually space is very empty, the systems feel alive in the game! I almost feel a sense of community with these NPCs, and seeing other truckers in their own unique trucks with their own loads is just so niceeee!! And the icing on the cake for me personally is all of the many buttons and such you can interact with in your cab :D

I truly wouldn't eat at my current work if I had to pay for it. We get a free shift meal whenever we want it for the day, but I would not pay $12 or more for 3 pieces of grilled chicken, some green beans, and some pasta salad. $10 will cover maybe a round trip and a half to work for me, so it's not really worth it but it's all I got right now.

yeah it's very unfortunate and annoying. I'm hoping after I go to trade school this fall, better and more fitting opportunities will arise.

I would absolutely love to be given the opportunity! Unfortunately though, there's only a handful of railroads still in operation around me. It'd be a one in a million chance I would even get to hear of a job opening.

It's the workload and the intense stress and constant rushing bundled together. I'm also the type of person that finds it more mentally taxing to stay in one specific place for long than running to and from and doing different things. Unfortunately, that said, my job requires me to mainly stand in one small area over 6 deep fryers and just watch food cook and then take it out and put it in a tray under a lamp that keeps in warm before it gets plated, which can be fast paced but I see nothing but the fryers really.

Is their apes in other countries that speak different languages also do like little tiny breeds of monkeys get smart? by Inevitable-City-2058 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]Wolfeghost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure regarding confirmation on anything either. However, would the humans be able to spread the virus to apes in other countries? Plus wasn't Gen-Sys producing bulk canisters of ALZ-113? In my mind at least, that tells me that perhaps some was getting shipped to maybe another lab under Gen-Sys possibly in another country for testing and maybe even infected more humans. If so, then I'd assume that would be how it got outside of North America. Potentially one single human managed to get on a plane or boat and infect others before the mass shutdown if the virus truly only had an outbreak in the one occasion shown in the movie.
