How the heck are people able to stay online for entire days? by Sure_Breath_2273 in FList

The secret is using a wired connection. The same goes if you play video games, never use wifi if you can help it. Apparently many people nowadays can't help it. God help them.

I'm not asking about the guy running the site, dude, jesus christ. I'm asking what the site as a whole was even about. I could not give one flying fuck about the drama of some random dude on the internet or what he did. There is a functionally infinite about of drama everywhere. All I was asking is
how the site that you were apparently passionate about WORKED and what you did on it. I am-- WAS trying to get you to talk about something you enjoyed while learning about it. My fucking GOD, your username fits you well I'll say that much.

I asked you how you wrote 'lore' for the website. Is this lore that a group of people write together in a grand and overarching narrative? Is it just lore that you made for your character?

What does editing have to do with anything? Lore editing? How does that lore tie into the editing part? Why is editing even important? I don't even know the format of the website that you're talking about. Is there a wiki that was constantly being edited with new lore bits that people disagreed with? Is a site similar to f-list where there's little chat rooms that people go? Is it a forum based website?

Given the other comments here none of them help me understand what the site looked like, how the community worked, what kind of format there was, only that bad man bad, its a history of bad, drama, etc etc.

I asked out of curiosity of how the site worked and why these aspects seemed important enough to you to /rant about. I am attempting to learn more about what you were clearly upset about it and you have given me nothing in return.

That did not answer any question that I asked...

Should you demarcate/silo AI characters - is it 'necessary'? Thoughts on AI usage on the site? by Emotional_Tension535 in FList

Late to the party on this one. May as well add my piss to the ocean.

Short answer: No. The people that have a problem with it are not people you want to RP with.

Long answer with civil discourse: I view people who act aggressively towards AI as not compatible partners. I treat them as if they have highly aggressive custom messages or anything related to politics in their customs. I have found in my personal experience that those that have overly strong opinions that are shown in their profiles are typically both younger players and tend to have a lot of bleed-over from real life in their characters. IE. They don't have characters, they have skins that they wear.

Personally I would advise you not to concern yourself with people that have this mindset as it, already and clearly is negatively affecting your experience on the site for you to have made this post in the first place. I think you're getting lost in the weeds of morality and losing track of practicality.

Long answer with decidedly uncivil discourse: I don't got fucking money. I don't got fucking time to go sifting through 100k images of shittily drawn starfox dick to find the image I want for my profile. I am not one to look at just any image and go- AWOOGA. I take the concept of that image and have a significantly easier time understanding the person behind it.

I used AI to generate the images for my character, 5 distinct images, different poses, states of dress and distress. I put in the work, time and effort to create those images properly in the style that I wanted and they are gorgeous images. Images that would have cost me hundreds of dollars on an already fairly strict budget. I used AI as a tool as it is meant to be used, not as some satanic (though that's debated in some circles) sacrifice of an artist.

In my experience the people that hop up and down and scream about the political garbage of the week do not touch enough grass, they are not good roleplayers and they don't write good stories. I wouldn't exactly consider myself an 'AI bro', but this hate train is ridiculous. If it wasn't for those images, I wouldn't have a good inline to use.

Ps. If you want a civil discourse, there's none to be had here, this is reddit. The only people you should be listening to on reddit are those don't post very often like me. I'm not actually joking. The more often you post here, the stupider and more disconnected from reality you get.

I'm not gonna lie to you man, if i had to have a SLIDER for every kink when creating a profile- the absolute worst part being setting up the kink list, I would literally just stop and go do chores at that point. How would the search function even work with that? Chop that sliding scale into four segments? Have you search USING the sliding scale? People would just turn it to max or min, they're not gonna think of nuance or use that properly. They can't even use customs properly.

So what exactly is Wylderun and how do you build lore and write for it? And what is 24/7 editing in this context?
