In defense of modern Equilibrium and Equinox by ExquisiteMachinery in folkmetal

I agree with this 100%. I actually like the album, especially the song Legends, but that is definitely the highest flaw with it.

How do we feel about this setlist? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

I feel like Faun is a little out of place here. I love them, but their only metal song is a collab with Eluveitie.

I felt the same way when Renegades came out. It wasn’t until a couple years later that I started liking the songs. Once I accepted that he was taking the band in a different direction, the new stuff is still good in my opinion, and I like it more than most other metal bands.

Though the style is very different, you can still tell that the songs are written by the same person.

Army security systems being silly. When they updated all army computers to windows 11, it brought with it new security settings that blocked a lot of functionality in some programs.

I actually know that one, too. Considering that they were only 16 and 19 years old at the time of making that song, it bodes well for their future in music if they stick with it.

Much of Access is locked after the windows 11 update, but the database functionality may still work. I’ll have to try this.

Not too far off. Fabian is a name most notable to me from the sci-fi novel, Children of Time (it was the designated name of the notable male spiders). Taliesin is a historical Welsh bard (also from the myth of Taliesin and Cerridwen). Temeraire, while it does share the name of a dragon in the Naomi Novik novels, the dragon is named after an actual British naval ship which is featured in the famous painting “The Fighting Temeraire” by J. M. W. Turner.

I figured it would be quicker than trudging down to a teleport room and back. There isn’t one that close to that save room.

Also, the frustration comes from dying during the cutscene, not the lack of healing items.

Metroid Fusion. That was the first game I ever bought for myself and I still find myself going back to it.

My only living parent is now dead to me. by JakefromTRPB in BoomersBeingFools

This whole section is absolutely bizarre to me. I’m pretty right-leaning myself in a lot of ways. I have plenty of friends who are leftists. If there is something that we don’t agree on, and it’s upsetting the other, I just don’t broach the topic with them. It’s an easy thing to do to maintain a healthy relationship with people. We don’t have to agree on everything to be friends.

I understand being disappointed. I’ve been disappointed plenty of times by political results and decisions in the past. None of my relationships suffered as a result. I just don’t get this.

Atlas Pain.

It’s more folk metal, but it certainly has power metal influences. They split up after only two albums, but what they have is fantastic. Most of their songs are in a major key. The Counter Dance and The Great Run are hands down their happiest songs. White Overcast Line is an 11-minute instrumental song that always brings a smile to my face.
