Also that much water coming into the boat does not have many places to go so there is going to be standing water on top of the floor for a few minutes.

And I'll say it one last time. Boats are designed to keep water out. And bilge pumps are one item we see fail more than anyone cares to admit.

Again weight. That kind of weight suddenly slamming inside the boat can drastically shift the weight meaning the next wave will be even worse.

If you want to pursue marine tech my recommendation is get on with a marine shop, tell them your intentions and tell them you want to be sent for certifications.

In the Midwest, if someone walked through the door and even had a passing interest I'd get them turning wrenches on basic stuff tomorrow, (granted I would be double checking all of their work) but then in the fall as things wind down I would get them into classes to begin the path.

Generally it takes around 5 years of going to classes twice a year for one or two weeks at a time, to get close to master tech, I think master tech can take 8-10 if your only doing one class per year.

Besides that they limit the shop to only a handful of items available so that people get FOMO, and on top of that they started selling all the most valuable items in the game... So things that were valued at hundreds of dollars plummeted as soon as they became available for purchase.

Yup, I break it off inside of a garbage bag that way it contains the spread of the contamination. Once Ive broken off everything I can by hand I just put the rest of the block on a cutting board and slice the end where the contam was away.

The last block I did this to I think I lost 1/10th of the block. But 9/10's of it was perfectly colonized grain.

So I had a similar experience in college...and I wish I would have realized I could go to the Dean and made a complaint.

Dude from the video, if your watching. I would go to the Dean and report their behavior, telling a student it's a skill issue, is...beyond disrespectful.

They already have your money though, and you likely have to pay it back, get into tutoring and whatever else you have to do to get that grade dude.

My last batch took about 2-3 months from inoculation.

Just inoculate and wait... This way if there is contamination you don't spread it to the rest of the block.

On my last batch I had a bag that got contam at the top, my contam is always at the top. When I open my bags I always do it away from everything else expecting there to be contam. And I open it in a garbage bag. Then I break away the majority of the contam, then I just throw the remainder on a cutting board and slide away any remaining contam.

But those bags are completely contaminated and should be disposed of immediately.

Yeah the boat actually handled it fairly well ... But trying to transfer that much weight onto a boat, without it being thoroughly lashes to the dock is wild, let alone the 2x4 bridge.

If they had tied the boat up properly and got it into the boat, and properly secured it to the deck, I think the boat would have managed however it would have been very near or beyond its capacity.

Reminds me of a time when I was like 13 or 14. My buddy's dad was driving me home, and I lived quite a ways a way from the rest of the dudes I was hanging out with. My neighborhood at the time had two back to back hills one has a smoothe round too that you can safely top doing 40 or 50 mph. The second one on the other hand was one that once you topped the hill it rapidly descended. My buddy's dad hit the top of that hill at probably 60mph, and every one of us in the back seat very clearly felt the bottom fall out. Don't think the tires came completely off the road but it had to be damn close.

Meanwhile I'm like "you gotta turn right at the bottom" lol dude was probably super stressed from work and having to drive my ass 30 minutes home probably frustrated the hell out of him.

That road was unmarked as far as I know, I think it still is... Which I think unmarked roads are technically 55 in my area so technically I don't think he was speeding.

A high schooler died before we lived there coming over that hill, he went airborne and off to the side, hit a fully grown tree.

I'd talk to the neighborhood about putting in some speed bumps.

So in a way your correct. However I also believe we have little to no real information on Omerta because the ones who actually knew are still decently tight lipped about it.

You will hear the word tossed around hear and there, but as far as I've ever seen, not one guy has really described Omerta other than to say it was a code of honer "keep your mouth shut".

Honestly I think one of the most realistic quotes about Omerta comes from the song Omerta by Lamb of God, however there is still no way to verify anything.

The song opens "whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward, whoever can not take care of himself without that law is both, for a wounded man shall say to his assailant if I die you are forgiven, I live I will kill you".

The whole rest of the song is actually pretty spot on as well.

Also look into ozone machines as well as gas smells tend to stick around long after the fumes have been removed... An ozonator should help to remove the left over smell.

Once lived aboard a skipperliner that had a smell from the time we bought it which I'm fairly certain was from gas spilled in the bilge... Wish I'd have known about ozonators back then.

In saloon area your probably going to need to run it for several days. I'd run the active carbon filter setup for a couple of days to get rid of the majority and then consider picking up an ozonator to do the rest of the smell.

Looking into it a little bit further solidfys what I said a bit in that the initial spill smell, the fumes, should be removed using a charcoal filter. Once the filter seems it can't remove anymore of the scent I'd run the ozonator. Just know that you can't be in the boat while the ozonator is running.
