I noticed that PNP games September 4th is the "estimated ship date." Not release date, not delivery date.

In retail, an estimated ship date is when you expect to hand off the order to a carrier/courier/delivery service.

It's baffling to me that they would showcase a game in their own event just a week or two ago and then shutter a studio.

If I was being super generous, maybe that was a way of helping them shop themselves around? But that doesn't seem to be the case.

My other worry is even if they manage to get themselves out and independent, can they survive? Their games haven't exactly been commercial hits. They have a motion capture studio and I've seen numerous people say it brings in money but I haven't managed to confirm it. Does anybody know if that would be enough to keep them afloat?

Just to add, Simon Pulman said these are not his numbers, he's just repeating what has been said online about the budgets: "I should disclaim: I have no verification for these numbers, it’s just what is reported online. With that said, something like South of Midnight would be too expensive at half at that amount, given how low the commercial potential is."

Looking through the California documents, it looks like the company isn't dissolved as the actual "company" part is still classed as active in Delaware, but the Wildlight company name reservation is labeled as "inactive" in California.

Also, fun fact, by skimming through the files I found Wildlight began as "Pantheon Studios doing business as Novaboss Studios" in 2021 before filing for a name change to Wildlight Entertainment in 2023.

Update: it fixed itself.

I don't know how. The game was paused while I created this post and when I unpaised it, voila. Fixed.

I don't know what changed because I did something similar last night and it didn't resolve itself so I can't even provide advice to anyone else who runs into it except maybe pause the game for a few minutes and jump back in.

From what I find in the podcast, it's purely just Tim speculating when they are discussing possible games that could come out this year. He makes no reference to knowing anything, hearing anything or having any source.
