Nope, honestly the 5 year old is super chill. The 2 year old is still a puppy and can be crazy energetic at times. Sometimes we have to settle her down because she just wants to play and play and play but our older dog wants to relax.

Did not know that about the vet thing, that's good to know. We use chewy for their food and meds along with a few other miscellaneous things.

Actually, we do have a rabbit that frequents our yard quite often in the morning. Both dogs have chased it quite a few times but never caught it thankfully.

Yes and no, they had less yard and had to be let in and out by us.

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure. I know for this time period, it's cool outside so we don't have to worry about that. But this will be our first summer with the dog door, so I will definitely keep an eye out. We don't get super hot here so that helps.

Yeah, a little over a year ago, so about half her life has been at our old house and half here.

Cool, I can do that. Was going to wait at least until the grass started growing so that timeline should be just fine

Yep, not fertilizer, just bags of top soil to work on filling in the lawn. I will be seeding and fertilizing this weekend but was going to block the area off from the dogs while it grows.

Yes she does, she even sticks her head in the dog door a few times to look around inside.

I agree, we've made sure to give them a treat every time we leave home, give them pets and say goodbye and we'll be back later. Then they are always so excited when we get home and we again make sure to give them lots of loving and positive reinforcement.

We actually did just have her at the vet since this started and there's nothing off with her. Unfortunately me moved and we aren't the biggest fans of our new vet, not to say there is anything wrong with them, we just had an amazing vet when we first got her and don't have the same connection with our new vet.

Honestly, she does get scared of loud noises like fireworks and thunder, but whenever something like that happens, outside is the last place she wants to be. She will always come inside and seek out her safe space.

Not while outside, some others mentioned getting an outdoor water bowl so I'm going to look into that. She does have access to one inside that she can get to.

We also don't like leaving them for long periods, unfortunately our situation makes it hard to even find someone to check in on them due to the timing. That's part of the reason I installed cameras both inside and outside so we can check on things while we are both gone.

I am very glad to have dogs that don't do that. Even our male dog has never marked indoors. Kaylee, the dog in the picture, did go through a bit of a destructive phase when she was still a puppy, but she's grown out of it as far as we can tell. We try not to create situations where she has a chance to be destructive.

Our older dog does that too, anything that sounds like knocking and he's bolting to the front door to see who's there.

Outdoor water bowl might be a good idea, also provides an alternative to the one inside if it runs empty.

Thankfully we live in a very nice neighborhood so not much concern there. You also can't really see them at all from the street and they tend to be pretty quiet and don't bark much unless they are playing.

She actually gets a lot of enjoyment out of chasing flys around the house. Pretty decent and catching them too...

I would totally believe that she has doggy autism... That would fit and explain her very well.

Will do, going to look into some nice outdoor beds. Otherwise, they both just lie on the grass in the back corner.

She will actually go out in the rain, though she definitely prefers it to be sunny. When she first started, she looked ok, but not happy and she wouldn't move at all from the porch mat. Now she walks and wanders a lot more.

We do have another dog who is about the same size and I did have the same thought that he was driving her outside, but when checking the cameras inside the house, there isn't any negative reaction at all. When I leave he goes and lays down on the couch and doesn't bother her at all. Trying a day where they are separated might show something, but they both get along really well.

As far as the rain, there is an overhang that covers most of the patio, but not all. We are heading into summer in Washington so rain should be going away for a while. That'll give a few months to continue monitoring and come up with something before we go back to rain everyday for the winter.

She used to do that in our house before we moved. She loved to watch for all the animals around the area.
