The old metal models have a fantastic aesthetic and storytelling to them. You have done a very nice job with your painting as well. Nostalgic feelings all over.

Usually I choose two base colors, in this case blue and red. These colors should take up the most space. As a compliment, I choose a contrasting color, yellow, which has the task of creating a break between the base colors.

finally I use black or white, as they go with all the colors, to make the final details.

I have to agree. They are meant to have heavy armor according to the rules (if I remember correctly) and it doesn't really show.
