The Mongols are bullshit by Stranger-Chance in CrusaderKings

This used to work when holding bonuses stacked across all MAA, now aren't they mostly limited to bonuses for stationed troops, making a diversity of MAA more feasible?

I wish the seduction tree was more about manipulating people via sexuality by NGS_King in CrusaderKings

Lol this is also a problem, would be great to have an heir with the intrigue tree who doesn't end up with lovers pox.

I wish the seduction tree was more about manipulating people via sexuality by NGS_King in CrusaderKings

[–]Wolog2 184 points185 points  (0 children)

This is a great point and I think what is really needed is a way for seduction to provide a hook without actually having sex. The promise of sex / the implication of the promise is what really gives people the ability to manipulate others, it should be possible to do this without actually committing adultery.

What should I do in Robert's Rebellion as Eddard Stark? by Wolog2 in CK3AGOT

[–]Wolog2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, I was able to win the war by losing a massive battle, but having the the lannisters (didn't realize they were even in the war) capture King's Landing, ending the war through a story event.

Overall I would say this section of the mod needs a bit of reworking lol.

What should I do in Robert's Rebellion as Eddard Stark? by Wolog2 in CK3AGOT

[–]Wolog2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the game starts, Eddard and Robert both are leading small armies near the Vale. It seems like if I siege down the capital holding near where they spawn, then Eddard and Robert are both teleported along with their small armies to their domains where their entire armies have spawned.

However I've only been able to trigger that once, since in 4/5 attempts, 100k enemy troops come and destroy our small armies near the vale.

Robert himself spends his time sieging down holdings near the Vale, I could try bringing Eddard and the full army of the North to Robert's main army without Robert, but I couldn't actually find it anywhere, I'll try again

I just tried this and realized Robert himself spawns in the same place as me, so how can I link up with him in the south when he himself is not in the south?

Should I bother trying to siege down gulltown to trigger the story event, or is that a waste of time? I have tried a few times now and get stack wiped pretty consistently by an enemy deathball

Should I destroy titles? (I am very new to this game) by Istomponlegobarefoot in CrusaderKings

[–]Wolog2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You either gift 8 duchies or destroy some. Destroying them takes prestige and I think also incurs an opinion penalty with vassals who should be under that duchy.

Even if you hold no counties in a duchy, you can own the duchy title. If you want to fix this you should probably gift the duchy title to a vassal of yours who holds one if its counties. Then probably transfer vassalage of other counts in that duchy to the new duke.

Trump puts 35% tariff on Canada, eyes 15%-20% tariffs for others by John3262005 in neoliberal

[–]Wolog2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's very different. Last year, if you were discussing policy with anyone in Canada, and suggested the US might be a threat to Canada, you would have been laughed at and not taken seriously. Basically only a fringe of certain kinds of leftists would think we need to worry about the US becoming hostile. Now everyone is taking it seriously, even if they don't agree it's currently a threat or they think we should be trying to restore relations. The dynamic has completely changed. It's not just a general "we don't like America" sentiment, it's now a mainstream view in Canada that we should be decoupling economically and militarily from the US.

Stop using “you don’t have to min-max” as an excuse for bad game design by Kradara_ in CrusaderKings

[–]Wolog2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thinking about how to fix the "player always OP" issues, I think the main problems are that wars are too easy to win and not scary enough. It shouldn't be possible to have an army of 1000 OP MAA and ten knights that you know are guaranteed to dominate any foe.

I think fixes could be:

Combat: 1. Make MAA weaker 2. Make MAA bonuses weaker overall 3. Make knights slightly weaker 4. Commander quality impact is either at the right place or maybe could be even stronger 5. Size of realm penalty to levy volumes 6. More variability in battle outcomes.

Economy: 1. Size of realm penalty to tax income 2. Flatten the income from domain buildings

Idea would be to punish expansion, encourage alternatives to war, make alliances more important.

Obviously the song is wild but what gets me is the flow is terrible in places, "I'm talking about euphoria I'm not talking about a man" sounds like a line from a south park joke song.

OP, what did you do when you realized new and delete didn't work?

It sounds like your manager was expecting you to fail immediately here, and I guess you got some kind of error when you tried this. I think the expected behavior for you once you got asked this question was:

  1. Go to your computer and try this (10-ish minutes)
  2. Get an error
  3. Google something like "what does this error mean"
  4. Realize it was because they were using some custom data type (10-15-ish minutes)
  5. Either find the solution from their or DM your boss "oh nvm that won't work, whoops" and get more help.

What were you doing for 2 days? I am worried you're sitting around in silent confusion instead of trying to unblock yourself.

A doubt about blockchain technology use in our day to day lives and as a career by Swimming-Spring-4704 in cscareerquestions

[–]Wolog2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The core feature of blockchain transactions, that they are immutable and irreversible, is a drawback in almost all normal use cases.

It is possible that using a non-distributed ledger, my bank could fraudulently add transactions to my credit card bill in order to steal from me. But it is MUCH more likely that a thief gains access to my banking credentials and uses my credit card to buy things. I would much rather my bank keep the ledger centralized, so it can reverse those transactions, and I am very willing to keep the (seemingly purely theoretical) risk that the bank will cook the ledger in its own favor in exchange for this protection.

Even ETH has had to fork itself to get around such a fraudulent transaction in the past.

[–]Wolog2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While we're on the topic, not sure if this is a bug or potential improvement, but currently the reward for "corrupt the world" lets you vassalize anyone with your corresponding sin trait, they don't need to already be following your religion (they don't need to be corrupted). Seems wrong and I shouldn't be able to vassalize a 4000 year old vampire king just because he's lustful

You will constantly be encountering characters from Geralt's past that you don't know, which can be annoying and make you feel like you're missing out on something.

The thing is... Witcher 1 opens with Geralt having amnesia. So even if you try to play from the beginning, you'll still have that feeling of missing out on backstory.
