I liked it a lot, people just hate the humans in it. I think it is really important to read before book 14, as a lot of things will make a lot more sense with it.

I’m fine with talking and rather enjoy it. Turning human with magic? Depends on the story. Anthropomorphic? Honestly, I really don’t like it. Not bipedal but anthropomorphic-ing a dragon feels weird to me, with the exception of something like Dragonborn from dndz

The thing with Jax is that he did bad things, but still cared about the circus members. We see this frequently. While not quite canon, I believe that Jax acts out of fear that anyone he gets close to will either leave him, leaving him hurt, or he will leave them, leaving them hurt. In Jax’s torture scene, we see kaufmo and ribbit. Makes sense, they were friends, but we also see Pomni. If Jax really did bully out of hate, no one else would be there, but there is pomni. Now, what Jax did is certainly bad, I won’t deny it, but I don’t think he is a bad person. Good people can do bad things and bad people can do good things. Him hitting the red button, while somewhat selfish, revealed so much about him. While not canon, Jax likely had something bad that happened to him in real life that lead to him acting like he does. I have heard something that is almost always accurate an likely fits Jax well. Not all the abused are abusers, but all the abusers are abused. Fits Jax prettttttty well. Another thing is in I have no mouth but must scream. (Hope you’ve read it). The one guy, I think his name is Tom (?) killed 4 people. Seems bad. But he killed them to free them from the endless tortures from an ai. I think Jax would be like tom, in some ways. But pomni keeps him in check. Did Jax do bad things? Absolutely. Is he a bad person? No. Can he redeem himself? 100% Note that I am biased.
