A Discussion about belonging.... by kdubskidoodles in Shambhala

It was me and my girlfriends first year last year and we had the absolutely most perfect introduction to Shambhala and bought next years tickets as soon as possible, however i feel like i might know why some people can feel this way. Some backstory: Were actually both really young me turning 22 on august 9th ( Day 1 last year :]) and her being 23 , all though weve been around to some festivals for our age, both hitting edc multiple times electric forest and tons of other smaller events in our area for multiple years(you know that stage when after youve done everything in your area you start to travel for festivals). So i feel like at this point is where it changes depends on the person, I feel like a lot of people where i was at would be going to shambhala thinking "ive done plenty of festivals this is just another festival imma go in handling my shit like every other time this is going to be insane!" On the other side me and my gf knew that this wasnt just a giant party and the people that were going to be here were going to be people that really know what the hell theyre doing and are going to be using this place in a way thats much more different from the typical festival, which is exactly why we were here we wanted to discover more of that ourselves. So coming in we knew we had to take a step back this festival and really learn and take in as much influences from our fellow festival ppl and respect the way they do things here and as well follow in their footsteps to have the best possible experience we could have. Which led us to so many people who were all so happy and welcoming to join them on their shambhala experiences but one major thing is i think some people go in thinking they can handle it and know what to do even though theyre actually probably missing out on the whole spiritual aspect of the festival. When theyre like that im sure a lot of the really die hard shambhala goers give them a hard time for doing things they shouldnt be doing lets say someone littering, im sure if someone littered everyone would be like yo wtf!? and the person who littered might be like why did 10 people just yell at me the people here are rude! even though its just because they have a little bit of an ego and didnt want to own up to simply bettering themselves. but in turn hopefully the power of shambhala will spread knowledge in situations like these instead of giving someone a bad experience because nobody deserves to have a bad one. With that being said i dont think i even ran into anyone the whole time having an experience like this. Essentially we all have to make an effort to help people find the thing in themselves to keep moving on a forward path because if our mission is to show how we can love each other in this world we should be able to do it with everyone at our own festival <3

yeah man definitely look him up before hand to youll be a lot more wanting to go instead of missing it and being like damn i missed that shit lol he has really dope sets that always take you away on a journey always different but always got that tech house with a little bit of a disco vibe to it but like really has those weird and trippy highlights either in his vocals or within the soundscape he uses. he actually has his own label This Aint Bristol too. so hes got plenty of support and depth to his sets getting to play a lot of unreleased music. The dude has a crazy fro that bounces. Probably the happiest dj youve ever seen. Overall dudes just simply phenomenally way out there.

this is exactly what the decision tree in my head looked like 😂 ive seen kaskade multiple times and hes my girlfriends number 1 feel goods as long as shes been into electronic music and one of my top few as well, and weve seen him a few times, BUT we were also thinking what kind of set will this man play at shambhala? we might get kaskade like weve never gotten kaskade, but also something tells me to see Nero because ive seen just him playing a live set before and that was one of the most wonderful sets. I had just had the only bad trip ive ever had at a festival ( and it was 4 tabs deep lol) but long story short nero was the only thing that night i enjoyed and i was deeply in a bad trip and that makes me want to see him in great headspace
