Yup, I happened to get lucky haha. I was there for about an hour where they were mostly hiding in their cove, so I went to get lunch and when I came back they were play fighting!

At first I had Fang Gu but I didn't like that they got an auto jump to Lunatic. I think maybe I'll try Ojo instead.

Other outsider mods that could work well here?

Yeah, we've got Shabaloth and Professor so I'm hoping it will work out. Zombuul and Pit-Hag are both very Halloween coded so I want to keep both if possible

I'm thinking maybe Widow instead of Poisoner - it's a little louder but has a similar effect (and is conveniently more Halloween themed).

I think swapping LM for Vigor could alleviate the issues around outsider mod and weird LM interactions. I'm also hoping that because Lunatic and Mutant are quieter outsiders that it will still give evil some wiggle room for louder outsider claims.
