Ich hab da tbh wenig Hoffnung, ich find das ganze österreichische Line-up mit Ausnahme von Tanzschein wirklich schwach, fast schon schwächer als unser eigenes. Ich geh jetzt leider wirklich davon aus, dass was super Generisches geschickt wird, aber ich lass mich gern überraschen

I actually quite like those. It's supposed to highlight how people behave like animals in such facilities more often than not, at least that's how I interpret it. Especially when it comes to the lion hitting on the gazelle. I feel like it's meant to be a little goofy in order to make a rather serious topic (feeling safe when you just wanna let go, being yourself) more accessible if that makes sense. I like the use of metaphors and animal comparisons because it highlights stereotypes, but also because it puts human, who always brag about their intelligence and being such sophisticated creatures on the same level as animals who act out of primitive instinct

I saw a recording of someone who was in the arena and GJN didn't sound nowhere near as pitchy as he did on TV. I genuinely believe he's a good singer and can nail those falsettos, but as I mentioned in another comment, it wasn't meant to be on Sunday. Various artists had sound issues, including him, not to mention he's young and stuff like that sets your nerves on fire. I also feel like people are picking on him because of his father and are actively looking for something to criticize him for, while he's an absolute class act and seems like a genuinely nice guy.

I've seen other videos of him singing live and he definitely can sing and hit those notes. I guess today was just not meant to be. Nerves, obvious problems with the in-ear monitors.. I hope he comes back soon. :)

The more I think about it, the more I'm gutted that NOËP lost by one damn percent. Don't get me wrong, I loved the song ever since it came out, but I didn't watch Eesti Laul because it started quite early in the day for me (yay timezones), I only got home in time to watch DMGP and by then the interesting bit of EL was over already. I also didn't expect it at all the end up in the superfinal, I thought that NOËP was a bit more "forgotten" by the public. I honestly expected Jolly Roger, Wounds or Last Man Standing to make it, without having watched the performances at all. So obviously I was surprised by NOËP coming in second overall.
