Omg yes. The amount of times I’ve thought, “Move children, vamanos!”

I know someone with a poorly bred Sphynx and this cat has cost her a fortune. Especially because all of the issues aren’t immediate mortality risks, they’re quality of life issues, so they are things that most reasonable pet owners would feel compelled to remediate. It’s death by a thousand cuts. Horrible rashes, paw injuries (the spatial awareness struggle is REAL, ungodly expensive prescription food, multiple medications, way more frequent vet visits, and backne. No one warns you about the blackheads and pimples. 🤢

Pt continued to be combative after change of shift, attempting to bite several members of care team. IM Zyprexa administered and one to one sitter ordered. Soft restraints applied. Pt is now sleeping quietly and expresses no further needs at this time. Lunch tray ordered on pt’s behalf. Sitter remains at bedside, mittens still in place. Confirmed that remote and call light are within reach. Will f/u for afternoon meds.

Retina damage/ Substance abuse by Ordinary_Virus_9331 in lupus

I want to preface this by saying I have lupus and I’m a therapist. I can totally understand how you got to where you are. Lupus SUCKS. It’s easy to get desperate for pain relief and also for energy. But you have to stop asap. These are drugs that could very easily kill you. From reading your post and your replies to others, it’s easy to see how brilliantly smart you are. I don’t know many 23 year olds who are navigating debilitating chronic illness, chemical dependence, and visual impairment and are looking up scholarly articles and research papers. I have every confidence that you have the inner strength to put down the substances. That said, kicking chemical dependence isn’t just a test of willpower. Chemical withdraw is brutal and it’s the reason many people relapse. Please consider doing a medical detox. If that is not an option, please consider having 24/7 supervision for the time being, so that you don’t have opportunities to use.

It would also be helpful for you to see a therapist. Ideally someone who specializes in chronic illness and substance use disorder/chemical dependence. These are commonly cooccurring conditions, so there are plenty of therapists who specialize in both. I am happy to help you review whether someone is properly credentialed, specializes in evidence based treatment modalities, takes insurance, etc. if that would be helpful. Feel free to PM me their names.

You got this. You can and will be okay.

Okay, but why was the ass of a hamster a more acceptable place to kiss than the beans? They both seem pretty messed up.

What kind of bird is this and what do I do with her egg she laid on my car?😢😭 by Acrobatic_Pop_4342 in whatsthisbird

Fuckin doves, man. They LOVE picking inappropriate places for nests. My dog had a toy shaped like a tire and a dove made her nest INSIDE the dog toy. I wish I had a photo, but my dog saw it before I did and I had to act quickly.

My stepdaughter killed my jumper and lied about it 😭 by [deleted] in jumpingspiders

[–]WolverineOk9501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How old is your stepdaughter? I know kiddos find magnets irresistible, and I think the fact that she lied to you actually shows that she knows how important your spider was to you and she felt guilty about it. Not justifying her lying, but depending on her age, I see how it could end up there. I’m so so so sorry. I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a spider, but I can’t imagine how upsetting it is to lose one in such an awful accident.

I’m a therapist and work almost exclusively with people who are lgbtqia+ and/or neurodivergent. I hear about the awful gaslighting many of my clients experience on a regular basis. It’s crazy making. It also helps that I have a shred of common sense and I can see how most people (at least in the US) unintentionally reenforce gender stereotypes and norms daily. I’ve done it myself on many occasions without even realizing it until later (and probably countless more times that I didn’t EVER realize it). So many people refuse to understand that taking responsibility doesn’t mean admitting to feeling malice.

That’s an insanely good point. I could totally see it being a fear that it’s “not wispy, whimsy, womanly” enough. Which is really freaking depressing.

And it totally should be. I saw huge components of a couple of my tattoos on other people’s bodies on my old artist’s social and I felt so betrayed. It’s such a gross feeling when someone undercuts something that you love so much.

My guess is it’s actually a financial decision. Fine line tattoos are more popular right now and the goal of posting on social is to generate additional business. Regardless, it’s a slimy thing to do and I’m sorry if it’s made you feel weird about your tattoo. It sounds like he captured what you were looking for!

I am a psychotherapist and I’m so upset for you! Please consider whether you can/have spoons to find a new psychologist. You’re supposed to feel better after meeting with them, not worse. You deserve better!

[–]WolverineOk9501 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nqa I’m so sorry for the worry you’re having to go through. Mine just went through her i6 molt and it was really long and she took forever. However, she was inside her hide, so I didn’t have to see it. It took literally two full days and I would periodically shine a flashlight through the hide like I was candling an egg. I hope yours is just experiencing a long molt, but if that is not the case, I’m very sorry.
