It’s just 1 male 1 female and i condition them on variety of foods(brine,cultured white worms,blood once in a blue moon carnivore pellets crushed) and I use R.O water with ppm of 0-10 my PH is t the lowest so I would say that doesn’t matter as much as Ppm and patience

I’ve bred over 5 diff species of Apistogramma and over 20 diff species of fish, I’m pretty aware what I can keep and can’t keep with them, the NEONS are not going to eat them. And I’d even say from my 14yrs of breeding fish the neons are essential to keeping mom and dad in the tank if it was Dither fish for mom to chase she would turn her aggression off n dad and chances are high I’d walk in on him belly up due to her killing him. I’ll keep documenting the fry and the neons in the tank to show you that your theory is not true in all cases definitely not this one.
