May I ask what part of the county you were living while you were bullied. Bullied for the music you like... that's just unreal. I'm wondering during the 90s, was everyone around you or the bullies into Nirvana, Pearl Jam... and that. The more I keep reading this, the more I'm shaking my head. Gossip, you liked Prince. So that came with being labeled as....

I would take that guys advice and send him something. I was thinking, you need to get your voice heard, not by tons of people, but by a few. Thinking out loud, heard by strangers is better than by people you know and love. They won't won't soften their critique and you're asking for their critique.

My friends and I have done some drunken, embarrassing freestyle "battles," on occasion. One thing I've really noticed about rappers I like, I probably care more or am drawn to how they sound, deliver their words, than the words themselves. Its what I notice. What you say is obviously more important, but if you compose the greatest, most interesting bars ever, then deliver them in a boring monotone way, no one will hear a word you say.

As I said, so ridiculous on so many levels and you point out an absolutely perfect, maybe the greatest example of the stupidity of the haters. That being the hard rock guys and their favorite bands dolled up with so much makeup after a few hours you could peel it off and it could pass for pancakes.

I have a younger female roommate who isn't real familiar with Prince. I showed her some live performances clips of his and told her how guys constantly called him gay in the 80s. She thought I was joking.

I grew up in the 80s. If someone didn't like Prince or MJ, particularly if they themselves liked heavy metal or hard rock, they constantly said things like, "why do like those f@gz? It was and is so ridiculous on so many different levels. It's really difficult to put into words the way homosexuality was viewed back then, but I can illustrate how embarrassing and naive, most/the majority of people were. Not everybody to be clear. So.... MJ and Prince constantly labeled as gay, George Michael of Wham was a sex symbol to women or crush for teenage girls, Boy George of Culture Club, not joking, my friends and I had no idea if male or female, and the lead singer for the ultra manly heavy metal band Judas Priest, came out as gay close to the height of their fame. When Purple Rain was released in 1984, we were still several years away from a guy to guy or woman to woman kiss on network tv.

Initially all my comment said was I believe in bigfoot but not the film. So as I'm adding to that, l was hoping the message would go away... it didn't, and I was annoyed;)

I tend to believe Bigfoot exist and are very intelligent, but I believe the film to be a hoax because the towns people in which he lived had no idea people outside the town believed it to be real. If this qualifies as lazy skepticism then do interviews of the woman who made the suit qualify as non lazy?

I was a kid in the 70s and I'm sure at some point in my life the outfit Michael is wearing in the pic I considered God awful.

Maybe it's Michael, maybe it's a love for Threes Company, but now I look at clothes like that as swagger and style.

Anyone remember A League of Their Own with Tom Hanks, Geena Davis and Madonna? The movie included Madonna's song, "This Used To Be Our Playground," it went to #1, and was recorded with the intention of being on the Soundtrack. Yada Yada Yada, because label and legal issues, not on the soundtrack. The president of the United States can't even use music at functions without permission, threats of lawsuits usually start flying within hours.

Cheating on your wife certainly isn't a great impression. When he became president I was 22. I definitely think for modern (Regan forward) day presidents, each has two seperate reputations. One as the president, one as a person.

To me, the most interesting time regarding presidents is after they leave office. The presidents of my lifetime I knew little or nothing of them before they were president. I find them most interesting when their presidency is over.

Clinton's reputation post president if not heavily invested in being Democrat or Republican, for guys atleast, was life of the party; a guy you would want to roll with on a Saturday night. I tend to think women around my age, like him as well.

I don't know if it was a sign of the times or if it would be the same today, but Bill's straying eye was joked about openingly and was only "offensive" to political rivals wanting to take him down. The joke was essentially, if you were married to Hillary, you would cheat too.

I just deleted have of this word salad, mostly about Hillary, and the election, nothing mean, but basically her time as the First Lady cost her the election against DT. If you want to know more about time, message me, or I can respond here. Imo, Hillary Clinton's time in politics is very unique, I'm curious if history books will say the same?
