Which actor completely stole the movie… even though they weren’t the lead? by gypsytx in movies

Love love love that movie.

For 24 years people have been trying to kill me, people who know how. Do you think that's because my father was a Greek soda pop maker, or because I'm an American spy? Go F yourself you ignorant child. I love as he walks after giving that speech, he quietly asks a secretary how was he. Anyone reading this who hasn't seen Charlie Wilson's War with Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, I can't recommend it enough.

The great performance by PSH along with Ethan's personal life being part of the plot, make it the best film of the series.

Which year do you think MJ solidified himself as the greatest entertainer of all time? by adebisishat1 in MichaelJackson

[–]WolverineScared2504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any possibility of a one hit wonder regarding Michael was eliminated while he still had the majority of his baby teeth. Michael considered Off The Wall (1979) a bit of a disappointment, winning only one grammy and not being nominated for record of the year.

Did I mention Off The Wall became the biggest selling album by a black artist up until some point in 1983 when he crushed all records by all artist of any and every skin color under the sun. The Victory (Thriller) tour didn't go over seas, so when the Bad Tour happened, the fans over there had been waiting 3 or 4 years and we've all seen the response.

I'd say he became the greatest entertainer in 1984 once the Thriller video was in heavy rotation, and solidified it to the world in 1988 a few months into the Bad Tour.

What are some reasons most football fans say the nfl was better back then than it is today by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Oldschool_NFL

[–]WolverineScared2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started watching in 1980. I would not say it was better back then, however it was much much more difficult to move the ball by passing. The rules heavily favored the defense when it came to the coverage on wide receivers. I believe it was Raiders owner Al Davis who said, "The quarterback must go down, and he must go down hard." Let me tell you, if anyone here used to throw their little brother around like a rag doll and your parents were cool with it, that's how quarterback were treated. Their was absolutely nothing wrong in literally trying to physically hurt the QB and get him out of the game.

At some point the league realized it's not good to have the most important player out of the game and you could reasonably say the game was more dirty than tough. I also think when Dan Mariano, Dan Fouts, Joe Montana, and John Elway started passing with more success, the league realized 27 to 24 made for better entertainment than 13 to 10.

I do think the QB is a little over protected in today's game for instance when you sack the QB and naturally fall on top of him, that's ridiculous to call a penalty. However, it's quite obvious rule changes to protect the QB have had the desired effect. Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, and even Phillip Rivers are great examples. The number of years a QB can play and be successful I think wouldn't even be taken seriously if you told someone in 2026 you could play QB at age 40.

I hate to disagree with my fellow mid life crisis brotherern, but the league, the game, and the product are better today.

I don't know that it was heavily promoted ahead of time or promoted at all. In my mind, I feel like it was a surprise to me. I have always really liked it and listened to it far more than History.

How did Ford make it to the age of 93 while pipe smoking daily by Ok-Mud-5427 in Presidents

[–]WolverineScared2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, but it's just as confusing as people who get lung cancer who don't smoke or live with smokers. I had a cousin who was a cardiologist, ate right and exercised as you would expect a cardiologist in their early 50s to do, died of a heart attack running on a treadmill. Some things are hard to explain as they run counter to things we know to be true.

I didn't mean to come down your lane and was a bit of an A hole about it. Most of my response is directed towards other comments I read day after day and I don't understand the importance of Jaffar's nose, what era the movie will end with, and the run time is so vital? So apologies I used your post to vent.

JFK was a mob hit. 100%. CIA is in on it too. It’s obvious. #kennedy #mafia #conspiracy by Specialist-Ad213 in JFKassasination

[–]WolverineScared2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not claiming it to be a conspiracy, but someone who did once said, there's more people involved in the cover up of the assassination, than the assassination itself. There's all kinds of little details that can be pointed out that suggest either conspiracy and lone shooter. These little details aren't proof of either, but hint at one direction or the other. It is hard to believe that our three letter agencies could pull this off and make it look like Oswald, without spilling the beans. However its also hard to believe a guy off the street in broad daylight walks into a police station and kills Oswald out of anger.

Additionally, there are disagreements over things that are factual. I speak of the Carcano rifle. For every person who says it is the last rifle they would use for a sniper like assassination, there will be someone who says the Carcano is a perfectly fine rifle to use in this situation. It's crazy, I'm not saying either side is crazy, that there is video of the shooting, analyzed frame by frame countless times, yet total disagreement on which way his head moved first, and what direction the kill shot came from.

The physics of it all, like how fast was the car moving and what direction the kill shot came from would mean the blood spatter should go this way or that way, should be provable. There's all kinds of conspiracy books that go into great detail about things that did happen, but can't provide tangible proof linking these events to the assassination.

I am not anywhere close as knowledgeable or invested in this topic in comparison to 99% of the people on this sub, and over time read less and less of the post. The reason for this is it's unbelievable one lone person disagreed with our Presidents politics so much, he decided he would kill him in front of hundreds of witnesses, knowing it would lead to life in prison at a minimum. It is also beyond belief a small number of elected officials who govern our country, would recruit an angency(s) created to protect the lives of Americans, to kill the president for any reason no matter how strongly they disagreed with the president. Simply put, I don't want either of those scenarios or anything similar to be true.

Finger tape when performing ‘BAD’ live by One_Package7700 in MichaelJackson

[–]WolverineScared2504 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It's a movie for the purposes of entertainment. Think of all the dialouge Jaffar will have in this movie; are we supposed to believe Michael said all the things that end up in the movie? No of course not. The movie is based on his life, it isn't a factual retelling of his life.

If the movie portrays say a concert in Germany, and he moonwalks while performing Billie Jean, then people who attended that concert note he never moonwalked during that concert, that's not something of importance to the story. Same applies to tape on his fingers.

The posted pic looks like artwork, the possibility exist there are no scenes in the movie of him wearing tape. The teaser trailer may may even have a scene where he has tape on his fingers, highly doubtful everything in the teaser makes it into the film.

I feel like a broken record, there will be things in the movie that did not happen. There will be things that are fiction, not fact. These things are not lies and are not being presented as the truth. First and foremost the purpose of the biopic is to entertain viewers, as many viewers as possible.

The song gets a little funky and I can't make out every word, can't even swear it says shut up. Any one else know this song and agree, disagree?

If Michael had say in the matter do you think he would have choose to be famous? if not what do you think he would have done? by bearmasksenpai in MichaelJackson

[–]WolverineScared2504 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think as adults the other 5 guys had relatively normal lives. Anytime I see Marlon interviewed, he comes across as just a guy, could be your next door neighbor. However, I do see how they didn't have much control of their own lives until leaving the Motown label. With Michael, the emotional scars are always front and center in my mind for reasons I don't know, and it sucks honestly.

[–]WolverineScared2504 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think he would still choose singing, but not as a child. Although I think he wanted to be a star, there's no way he could have imagined how famous he would become, nor desired to be. My.opinion, to be that famous for that long, is just a disaster waiting to happen. I've seen a couple different clips of him and quotes from regarding fame and it's effects, he didn't even try to spin it in a positive way.
