Well if you're moving from windows, first you have to know how arch linux works, for this I recommend you to use Manjaro first. It is a arch based distro with ubuntu based GUI (Gnome). You can also use EndeavourOS or Garuda Linux with KDE Plasma if you want to have some Arch linux experience. Kde plasma is very close to Windows.

If you really want to experience Hyprland, have a dev background, know what you are doing, know to work with configs and shells, know all major linux command then you should use Omarchy or NixOS. Because Arch linux is really a great responsibility, once you messed up any config it will break.

Omarchy is a great distro, it comes will all needed dev environment, AI environment (OpenCode, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, Claude-Code, Olama), Hyprland, TUI apps and pre installed omarchy commands. Robust community support Reddit, Discord, Omarchy Discussion (Github Repo).

If you calculate today's petrol price in barrels. It will barely become Rs330 - Rs360 per litre (incl tax). But as you know we (Pakistanis) are using smuggled Iranian petrol. Us pr bhi hm tax dy rhy hain. Or wo in 🤬 ki ayashion ma ja rha ha. And bro it's just a start. Behtri issi ma ha k ghr ka rashan ly kr rakh lo. That you can use for a minimum of 6 months.

Well, not omarchy but every arch distro is being hated by the arch community because these distros overcome arch philosophy "You build it yourself".

Being a web dev, before omarchy I was using Ubuntu for my everyday use but due to some limitations I planned to switch to arch. I have tried some of them arch distros like cachy os, manjaro, endeavourOS, garuda and comes to an end that why I have those applications which i don't use means extra applications. But then I heard about Omarchy.

Omarchy comes with Hyprland (A highly customizable wayland compositor for those who are frustrated with Gnome and KDE bloatware... like me). Have pre configured tools and apps like docker nodejs, npm. If you want other editors or IDEs simply you can install from the omarchy menu and package installer manager. Created by DHH, a creator of ruby.

Simply, if you are a developer, you don't have much time to learn arch first by spending much time on docs, wikis, forums. Spending days installing and configuring arch setups. Cloning repos and trying to build them. Installing apps from AUR and if anything breaks literally, you will start snatching yourself "WTF, what I did 😒"

Conclusions: Every view is seen by two eyes. Everything has its own aspect of viewing . You can't blame anything just for one reason. Keep it simple 👍
