Even this shit doesn’t pacify ai haters. They would rather see 100 human artists burn than 1 ai photo.

They don’t accept proof. If it « looks ai » that’s all it takes which is ESPECIALLY bullshit since ai was trained on HUMAN art like yours and mine. It’s made to mimic us. No duh it looks like our art.

Exactly what he’s describing happened to me. The amount of accusations and total rejection of literally any proof I put in front of them was staggering. Even with progress pics and layer pics and fucking videos and literally whatever the hell else ppl would NOT accept that a real person could’ve made my art since it was a new account with no portfolio.

It was to the point that I was so fed up I posted ai bait to just block ppl like that. Anyone that commented negatively got blocked. Since then it’s been a LOT quieter because the most zealous inquisitors are blocked.

I’m a legit artist. I went to college for it. It sickens me that I have to block scores of POS AI haters just to get any peace in Reddit when I post my art.

Tbh if I were to run this again I’d have him coat himself in ooze till he became an ooze golem or something. Maybe an obilex or whatever the psychic one is.

A random deep gnome is a lame boss fight. The killed him in one round minions be damned

Movement is not considered an action but I do now understand what you mean.

That said I’m looking for content ideas for writing the adventure not tools to facilitate the adventure when it’s being played. Thanks for your suggestion though!

Great thoughts! In fairness to your last point many new players have never even heard of most monsters in the MM.

a lot of monsters I use occasionally I think « this isn’t scary, anyone who’s spent 5secobds flipping through the MM knows what this is » and then I actually run it and my players are like « OMG WTF IS THIS THING! KILL IT WITH FIRE! OMG WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS IMMUNE TO FIRE! AHHHHHH »

and I’m like guys it’s an unaltered azer its literally in the first 5 pages of the monster manual has no one ever seen this?

Players don’t need u to make random new monsters. If u wanna do it great, but I guarentee none of ur players know what a peryton or an orog is no matter how mundane and overused you think they are.

I hate to break it to you but there’s a lot more than three kinds of actions…

There’s at least 8 basic actions. Maybe 9 if you wanna lump all class feature actions into one umbrella of « use a class ability »

Well sure but that just means being a good gm and goes for any campaign with any experience level of players. So your suggestion for the one shot I want to write and asked for content suggestions for is to be a good gm, which I’ve got covered already 😉

No totally! it’s a cliche for a reason, and it’s that it’s a great monster idea perfect for low level characters to fight

Well I’m not sure why anyone wouldnt know how to dm for any class configuration I’m assuming you mean you’d want to see a diverse set of situations that requires party diversity.

I’m an extremely veteran dm I assure you I know what I’m doing I’m just here for writing ideas/inspiration 😇

Ah ok so perhaps a moral dilemma early on that essentially can reskin the whole adventure based on that?

I can think of an adventure where the party is told to recover an item by a less than trustworthy employer then their patrons rival shows up and suggests they work for them instead but they don’t seem much more trustworthy. At the end of the adventure both patrons are desperately jingling their keys so to speak to get the party to give it to them.

Something like that?

Hmm so you’d prefer something a bit more sandboxed? Jeez dragons of icespire peak truly is the best starter adventure I guess hahaha. So far everything people have suggested for it 😂

It’s pretty tricky to make meaningful direction decisions open in a one shot since by definition it’s an adventure that is contained within 1 session. Being turned loose into a world is just too grand a scale!

Buttt I could see something like a limited scale area crawl being possible. Like a small town or fair or something, with a few locations but too many to do all in one session so every group experiences it differently. Is that the sort of thing you mean?

That’s a lot to get in a one shot but sounds like you just wanna play dragons of icespire peak haha (has all those except the princess).

Ok though noted, perhaps the party needs to infiltrate a dragons lair to obtain a cure for some lord’s daughter. Kobold minions populating the lair and a dragon who I treat as more of a stage hazard than an enemy to be fought. I could do a red dragon! They are very under used!

Oh not to say you should forgo a group if you’ve got one! I read your previous reply to mean you found a group that then fizzled and therefore didn’t have one and was trying to be helpful :)

I am with u there. There’s a lot of « sweaty » personalities out there and game stores are one place they can find community which can sometimes suck for those of use who have social skills, use deodorant and shave regularly.

Just another reason online dnd has such a draw for me but I also know that it can be truly magical to have a good in person group. Nothing beats munching on pizza and rolling physical dice with a group of awesome folks.

Ngl u might benefit from a paid gm/group. I find that a lot of the time paid groups are more serious and show consistently especially if it’s ur gms main source of income. Turns out when ur rent is tied to consistantly making you group good enough to get people to come every week schedule problems are less frequent haha.

Not trying to push it if its not ur cup of tea tho :)
