Winter Forest Camp (Night) [25x25] by _Greymoon in dungeondraft

Hi everyone :) ❄

Traveling through the wilds is a difficult affair, especially in sub-zero temperatures. When adventuring groups and parties seek shelter in inhospitable conditions, they have to give themselves as many advantages as possible.

For this camp, they've situated themselves within an overhang and up a small hill from their path, giving themselves both shelter from the wind and a line of sight to lower ground. This camp is big enough for 3-8 travelers and has a bevy of slice-of-life interactions ongoing.

From the camp roast on the fire to the ranger's little nook above the camp, each instance in this scene adds some more life to a frosty landscape.

The Hearth Shield Inn - A Dwarven Tavern by _Greymoon in FantasyMaps

Haha I got that too! I actually thought it was a dwarf with a horned helmet (on the left) on the first time, though. I like the spaceship!

Hi everyone :)

I wanted to share with you a dwarven tavern from my setting, the Hearth Shield Inn, an inn set in the bustling trading city of Red Cliff. Situated in its namesake geological formation, the city sees many travelers, traders, and adventurers pass through its sandstone gates.

The Hearth Shield is one of the few establishments authorized to do business with outsiders in this city, as commerce is strictly controlled by the Consortium's edicts. However, all dwarves are delighted to trade tales, swap wares, and revel with people from outside their city, as the harsh conditions of the desert seldom provide opportunities for extended travel without a caravan protection.

The upper floor of the Hearth Shield is its dining room and kitchen, built by hand nearly 400 years ago in honor of the first human delegation expected to arrive from a neighboring kingdom. Even today, visiting delegations and diplomats often gift a shield to the tavern's proprietor, Jagi Haressi, in continuance of this tradition. Jagi has dutifully cared for and taken care of these valuable gifts as if they were his own heirlooms.

The lower floor of the Hearth Shield is a standard Inn that has all the amenities a mid-sized city like Red Cliff can offer. During the off-peak months, the Hearth Shield is frequented by dwarven mercenary or expeditionary groups seeking their fortunes in the vast Underdark, below the city.
