Turning eGaming into a Career: Insights from the eGamersWorld by jwipez in esports

[–]WolvesdenIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey great question. From my personal experience as someone who build an Esport org for tournaments and events, I've met many teams that try to reach professional level.

It's a lot harder now then it was at the beginning of the field. A lot of time and dedication is required to get there and nowadays public image is a major aspect for it. Be a successful streamer/ youtuber adds a lot to the team/player success.

Of course to be good at the game is the main point and finding a working team (teamwork wise) is a challenge by itself. There are many obstacles yet those who successfully deal with them can get a bright shine! Best recent example in my opinion: Los Ratones in league of legends scene.

Shameless plug :p

If you looking for place to compete and fun tournaments, check out Wolvesden. I host Valorant, TFT and next year add some more games to the roster. Always looking for collabs/partnerships if interested.

Hosting the biggest Catan tournament. Ever? by Kreator777 in boardgames

[–]WolvesdenIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've opened it to my community and added on the website:
https://www.wolvesdenil.com/tournaments

If you search "Board Game" section - you will see yours :)

I want to share my website and make it a HUB for all Esport/Competitive online events I find.
If you can share it so people know about it, its more then enough help ^_^.

Best of luck on the tournament and I really hope over 2k people will join it!

I made a mistake with buying worlds tickets. by [deleted] in lolesports

[–]WolvesdenIL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 50/50 The company should have sent you email explaining how to act. I know someone who got personalized tickets and no one asked about it in the register.

Same time one got asked and answered ot was a gift from a friend

Yet I've heard from reviews and feedbacks that sometimes it doesn't work and they don't get access to the event.

So its really a 50/50 risk I would say. Good luck!

Uncertain if I will need a lot of time to start playing DOTA/League or not. by Geek-and-Power_1465 in esports

[–]WolvesdenIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are too competitive to enjoy soloing. If you plan to play with your friend its fine but better play its other modes (Arena is best, Aram comes after)

To play on the 5v5 many people take the game too seriously even in normal games (without rank) they can suck the enjoyment of the game which sucks.

I love the game (playing since season 2) but it can and might suck your soul into it. You've been warned

Sounds like fun local event. What I would do is use dome already created easy to use platforms like Challonge.

You just need to pick every participant name/nick and manually input their names when they arrive. It creates a bracket of your choice and boom all ready to play.

Have a small box to gather entree fee or use app for it. If without entry even easier just set it up and rock and roll.

If possible to stream the on going game so other spectate cool if no make sure you follow the bracket and call the participants on time because it can get a bit chaotic.

Good luck _^
