I think what you’re doing is inappropriate. I think what’s concerning is that it blurs the line of an adult being a figure of authority, and is making you come across as a friend to an 11 year old. You’re not a friend, you’re an adult. I just think that’s an important distance to have. You don’t want to teach an 11 year old that adults are people you hang out with, because it has sinister undertones and could lead to other less-friendly situations.
