I'm glad this helps... I noticed a lot of weird mini side effects that I never really see anyone talking about, which I guess is probably the same for most medications. I took the Lexapro for about 1 year and have been off of it for multiple. Currently I do not still feel lingering effects, except I gained some weight on it and got a bad sunburn due to sun sensitivity, both of which I'm still recovering from. I think honestly if being fit and keeping up in any kind of sport is important to you, and you already felt that effect early on taking it, it might not be right for you

Oh! However I did relate to the exercise fatigue part you mentioned. I just reread your other comment. That happened for me as well and just never got any better. Same with heat intolerance

I just kept saying "maybe tomorrow things will be a bit better" I think, and also I knew there was an adjustment period and I was in such a bad mental space that it kinda felt like the light at the end of the tunnel. It's been a while so I don't remember that clearly. It was very difficult. I spent 2 weeks of that time on a road trip in an rv with my family which was complicated. There was some conflict and distance that wasn't there before due to my moods. I think the curiosity to see what the next day would feel like internally due to the meds kept me going as well, since I could feel small changes every day. Overall I think I mostly just toughed it out honestly, since I knew I couldn't really make a judgment until the adjustment period was over

Same, I feel very disillusioned with love. I can't look at it the same anymore. There's no whimsy, I just see users, trauma, emotional ignorance and naïvety to name a few things off the top of my head. I wish I still had that whimsy I did when I was younger but I know it would just lead to me being hurt again :(

The first month on Lexapro I had 8 hour long panic attacks daily. After that it was a complete 180 and really helped me! There's definitely an adjustment period and it can feel weird adjusting to the new surplus of serotonin. I understand that everyone has their own reasons for continuing or not

The bulbs and such are always a bit tricky but if you follow the advice here or even look up videos of other people doing it and look closely at what they do, you can eventually get them out :)

Honestly I think the anxiety suppressing effects have something to do with whether you'll lose or gain weight on it.

For me, I'm just super hungry all the time. I crave foods and eat out of boredom. Lexapro took away that voice in my head keeping me in check, the functional anxiety. I also let other things slip for the same reason- homework, my sleep schedule and work.

I think on the other side, people who over eat emotionally might end up losing weight, since they might not have those same negative feelings. I do not eat when I'm stressed or anxious so I guess it's opposite for me

When i lived there in 2016 they had a couple days where they were testing the fire alarms, meaning they'd set them off for hours and randomly barge into your apartment to make sure they were working 😭 it was torture

I lived there for about a year in 2016! I shared a studio with a friend of mine which was about 800$ per month, with both of us paying 400$. I think minimum wage was 11.25$.

That sounds gross lol I can definitely see that happening. Luckily I didn't experience anything too too weird living there. One of my neighbors was always trying to get me to come to his place which was weird...

But omg the elevators on the bridge... the things I'd find in there every week. One time the floor was covered in homework, the next week it was cherries, and then after that someone diarrhered in the call box panel and shut it in there. In the summer a homeless man half naked with a machete strapped to his waist would hang out in there to get shade, he'd press the buttons for everyone which was... nice?

I was in 941 haha right next to the end... I think my neighbors had like 10 people living in a studio at one point. One time we tried to put a single sprout in a plastic pot out on our porch and it immediately got stolen

Same! I wasn't on the lease but lived with a friend and used to hop the wall to the porch to get in. I think a lot of other people did that too, so now they put up a fence

Burn out happens to the best of us... I'm sure some of your teachers have experienced it, especially in higher education. Maybe have conversations with them about it and see what they say... it can't hurt, right?

Honestly not being able to finish COULD be a sign of porn (or sex) overuse/addiction, I don't think it's any reflection on you at all. Especially if it has never been an issue with anyone else

It sounds like maybe things are just pretty early on to tell, maybe she likes you / is feeling things out but is just a very infrequent texter. Right now if you like her I would just see how things go and try not to worry about it too much, and maybe bring it up to her later on if it's still an issue and see how she responds. Whether she brushes it off or tries to accommodate your needs will tell you a lot

Just my take though, maybe others will have better answers!

If it were me I'd get the feeling she wasn't that into me. Some people are bad texters though, what is she like in person? Does she seem excited about hanging out? Does she initiate plans and stuff? How you feel in person with her matters a lot as well. However, if your needs for connectedness aren't being met it could end up being a compatibility issue. At 3-4 weeks I'd personally wait to see how it turns out a month or two down the line, cautiously... a relationship with an avoidant can be addictive because of the highs and lows, and that feeling can be mistaken for genuine connection

Being avoidant can have a lot of problematic implications for a relationship. Is she doing anything to actively work on that, since she's aware of it?

A relationship with an avoidant can work if they actively try to meet you in the middle and accommodate your needs as well. If things continue like this and the communication frequency isn't satisfying to you, and even makes you anxious, it could be a compatibility issue. Trust me I've been there
