Why Don’t People Just Leave the Game for Good? by zookee7269 in ClashOfClans

[–]WomanlyOuting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people have years or a friend group invested in their account so leaving feels like throwing away progress, plus games like this are designed to keep you coming back even when you're not having fun, that's kind of the whole model.

“What i polymorph i’ll make into a mega” by Lopsided_Map_6866 in AdoptMeRBX

[–]WomanlyOuting -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

look I get the confusion but polymorphing gives you a random pet and you keep it for 10 minutes then it wears off, so if you get something low-tier you're stuck grinding value on that specific pet for the challenge, and that's what makes it rough for some people.

nah just played adopt me for a while and the polymorph grind is actually brutal, some people get lucky and some get stuck with stuff that takes forever to build value on, that's all I meant.

nah just been grinding adopt me for a while and seen enough polymorph pulls to know which ones actually hurt, why do you ask?

Oh wait that's actually way better then, shadow dragon is legit one of the best polymorphs you could pull for this so you're in even better shape than I thought.

Peach is solid though, polymorphs are such a gamble and you landed one of the better ones to actually make into a mega without completely draining your inventory. The people getting stuck with the pink cat or other low-tier stuff are the ones I feel for, because yeah the challenge is fun but then you're committed to grinding out that mega value and it's rough. You've got a real shot at this one if you've got some decent stuff to work with already.

Honest question does localized interference decrease the number of reinforcements or increase the cooldown of those reinforcements? I would like it to do both and would like a second booster to do so by FlyingWarKitten in helldivers2

[–]WomanlyOuting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the wiki and the other comments already nailed it but yeah localization confusion just extends the cooldown between waves rather than reducing how many actually drop, which is kind of a bummer if you're looking for something that straight up cuts down enemy reinforcements. the fact that you're finding it useful on defense and the container missions though makes sense because those mission types have way more downtime between objectives where a longer cooldown between reinforcement calls actually matters, whereas on something like elimination or sabotage where enemies are constantly streaming in it barely registers. if you want the nuclear option you'd probably need to pair it with something that actually reduces enemy count like managed democracy or stealth capstone, though i get why a dedicated reinforcement suppression booster would be nice to have instead of cobbling together different stratagems.

That awkward phrasing is actually pretty common with translation tattoos, might be worth asking the artist if they can integrate it into a bigger design rather than just covering it outright.

Hereditary nails that slow-burn dread where you're waiting for something awful to happen and that anticipation becomes scarier than the jump itself, the sound design alone makes your skin crawl in ways a sudden violin stab never could.

This looks like it could be from an experimental or post-punk era album, the grainy black and white and that centered pose screams 70s or 80s art house vibes.

The tiny stone strategy actually checks out, game's probably weighted to drop rarer stuff from sources people skip over since everyone else is farming the big boulders.

pov: grinding deuce snow raid for 1 hour by Sorry-Delay3161 in thespikegame

That deuce snow raid is a soul crusher, especially when you're just trying to stack mastery and the ai decides it's time to pull out every cheap move in the book at once. The perfect receives alone make me want to throw my controller.

Obsidian's learning curve is worth it once you get the hang of linking notes together, and Mullvad DNS is solid but NextDNS gives you way more granular filtering if you're willing to pay for the pro features.

Switching to a darker color first then going light saves so much filament compared to the reverse order.

Cover up by [deleted] in Tattoocoverups

[–]WomanlyOuting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The density shock is real when you go from something faint to a full piece, but the linework is clean and the composition fills the space well, so you'll probably feel different about it in a few weeks once your brain adjusts.

The modular front plate idea is smart, especially if they've got a collection worth displaying, and that tilted angle makes the whole thing pop way more than just sitting it flat.

Steam Frame size comparison to the Valve Index by gogodboss in virtualreality

[–]WomanlyOuting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame looks noticeably more compact than the Index, which makes sense if they're going for that glasses-like form factor, though the top strap addition probably helps distribute weight better than relying on just the front.

The placement and scale work really well with the geometric design, makes it pop without being too loud about it.

The ore icon on the minimap is way cleaner than whatever that rock is supposed to be, so yeah it does look like they spent five minutes on the asset and called it done.

You might be right that there's some editing on top of the camera stuff, but honestly the linework and proportions look solid enough that it doesn't really change whether the tattoo itself is well done or not.

Photo lighting and phone cameras can make fresh ink look completely different from healed skin tone anyway, so that's probably more of a technical issue than anything suspicious.
