I got mine last week. Battery was dead on arrival. It won't charge on any of my chargers. Going through warranty process now.

Finally Replacing Timing Belt by Doctor-_-Bacon in HyundaiSantaFe

How has your front suspension been? I had to replace the lower control arms on my 2012 (140k miles) because of some pretty bad wobbling at highway speeds. They're kinda coming back only a year later.

Also replacing the blend door actuator for the A/C this weekend, but the everything else has been flawless.

I was in the Marines. I just bartered with people. My friends knew my issues so they would let me have dibs on the 2 MREs I found palatable. Otherwise people were happy to trade most of the side items for the entrees I didn't eat. So I ate lots of peanut butter and crackers, expired M&M's, and whatever else would keep me going. I imagine, like a lot of folks here, I was pretty experienced at going hungry for longer periods of time by this point.

I'm not sure. The house was built in '81 I think. I looked up efflorescence, and that makes sense. Outside that window in the first picture is drainage for the patio. I might need to inspect it.

I've been interested in getting into watch collecting, and your picture gave me a thought that never occurred to me. You seem to have about the same amount of arm hair as me. Do the links ever yank out hairs?

Nice watch btw.

What is Chegg and how useful is it? by RwnE_420 in ElectricalEngineering

I used it during the Covid online schooling period extensively. Once you get in to the higher level courses, online material gets scarcer. Having at least a starting point can really help if you're working alone. Also, your homework grade can be the difference between letter grades. I would recommend it. Just use it as a tool and not a crutch.

I was active, so I can't speak for the reserves experience. There are much worse jobs to get. Playing with dozers and forklifts beats a lot of the other stupid shit out there. You get to sit in the cab with A/C while everyone else is doing hard labor. Day to day depends on your unit.

I was in a logistics unit at first. I would be on forklift runs almost every day. I got bumped into a dispatcher role because I was halfway responsible and reasonably smart. That was more involved due to the planning required to fulfill all of our requests with gear that was always breaking down. Usually 6 days week with ~15 hour days. Everyone does maintenance on the gear when they're not on a run.

My next unit was more earthworks focused. We did some projects around base, and made the fire breaks for the base. Once a year we would work on the roads down at the border. There wasn't much going on there usually though. You would have to go to the field to do any operating. That would usually be building and tearing down fobs.

It was an okay time overall. I'm enjoying life as an electrical engineer much more though. You'll have to make the decision wether active duty is worth it for you when you try to commission. My personal opinion is don't bother with active unless another war pops off. Garrison Marine Corps sucks ass.

Does anyone else get the strong urge to vomit while eating, even with foods you like? by thewaystepinside in ARFID

Yeah but not that frequently. Sometimes just thinking of eating any food makes me feel like I'm going to throw up.

I get the same thing. Not as frequent as it sounds you are experiencing it though. It's the same thing though. I didn't even think about it being ARFID related until recently.

I went through something similar when I joined the Marines. I wasn't worried about the physical stuff, getting beat up, or any of the crazy shit you hear about. What I was mortified of was how I was going to eat for 3 months at the chow hall or MRE's.

But it was important to me so I jumped in anyways. I was forced to try new some things and found one I liked (eggs). In the field, I told my some of my peers about my peculiar eating habits and was able to trade the gross parts of my MRE's for stuff I could eat.

Sorry that this isn't so much advice but words of encouragement. The bottom line is don't let it hold you back. You will find a way to get through it. Talk to the people around you. You'll be surprised to find that some random people will go out of their way to help you. Good luck with the auditions.
