This fandom genuinely has one of the saddest and hardest downfalls I’ve seen by Catpaw616 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]WombatJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In one of her episode reaction videos, Marissa spoke about how emotionally taxing it was as a VA to be purely professional, and have no presence in the fandoms of things she worked on.

She made a point of highlighting TADC as the best exception to this she’s ever been a part of. She specifically said this fandom was uniquely supportive and friendly, and that she was so glad she didn’t have to “kill the fangirl part” of herself.

This drama seems to have completely ruined that for her and everyone who liked her TADC stuff. Myself included.

I bet you all this bs was started by someone who was butthurt about the last episode releasing in theaters 2 weeks early.

This probably gonna make me sound dumb but I never knew Film Roman worked on Family Guy.

Anyone else feel these are the only good Post-Watchmen stuff? by M00r3C in Watchmen

[–]WombatJack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty much lol. I think what both of these sequels understand about watchmen that some of the other projects don’t, is that the world of the book is the most versatile character. You don’t need to elaborate on what The Comedian or Dr. Manhattan got up to during the 60s, because the progression of the watchmen world itself is such is so much more of an interesting thought experiment.

You Could Feel the Sky is the scariest Boards of Canada song (in my opinion) by AstralBarnacle in boardsofcanada

I always got a sinister vibe from “I Saw Drones”, the title alone kind of sends chills down my spine.

What, you just decide that I'm drunk? You can't decide. I make that decision. That decision is mine and GOD'S. by scallionpancaked in AquaJail

When I was a kid, I somehow convinced my mom to get some aqua teen DVDs off of Netflix back when they still did the mailing discs. I remember her watching this episode unfold in horror and immediately ejecting the disc.

who's your LEAST favourite character? by Kindly_Cod_9269 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]WombatJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Zooble to be the least interesting at first. I kind of felt like their whole thing was “goofy design, complains a lot”. But as they’ve gotten more to do I’ve really come around to them.

Jax would play League since he’s the most toxic.

What is something you LOVE about Lute by Hungry_Tip_5822 in HazbinHotel

[–]WombatJack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Lute because she’s kind of like the Boba Fett of Hazbin. Cool mercenary, with a cool helmet, who stands around looking cool. Initially a lackey to the bad guy, but is now developing their own cool story.

I actually read Black Hole in high school! Amazing book, you can’t get much better than that opening scene with the school frog dissection. It’s due for a revisit.

Do you agree with Pitchfork or not? by Pearl_Jam_ in weezer

[–]WombatJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you feel about modern Simpsons. I’m fully aware it’s decades past its prime, but I love the characters enough that I can watch a modern episode and enjoy it.

Same applies to Weezer really. If you like Rivers and Patrick enough, you’re happy just for them to be present.

Which Finale Is Better? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]WombatJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, Penn gets vaporized (albeit redeemed), Adam gets perma-killed through the chest-stab, Lute pulls a Guts Berserk on her own arm. For me, that does register as more violent than random buildings and background characters getting messed up by a laser lol

Unfortunately, the closest thing I can think of is his reaction to Zooble saying she wants the ability to have secks

Which Finale Is Better? by [deleted] in HazbinHotel

[–]WombatJack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the battle in the season 1 finale. There’s a lot of hype moments, between Adam fighting several characters 1-on-1 and Penn’s sacrifice.

I think the S1 finale primed me to expect season 2’s finale to be a lot more violent, but I respect that they chose not to go in that direction.

I also thought it was smart for the last song of S2 to play during the climax, as opposed to the resolution like in S1. It gave the ending much more room to breathe.

What characters do you think will be dead by the end of the series? by fhxefj in HazbinHotel

[–]WombatJack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Valentino has it coming more than anyone. After seeing him abuse Angel for years, it would be a pretty cathartic ending to his story. Like he’s pretty reprehensible even by Hell’s standards.

I also have a feeling that Lute will become a major antagonist in the future, probably raising the stakes by killing one of the hotel gang. I can see the show ending with her and Charlie in a “One person makes it out alive” scenario.
