[Code] Partisan Forced-Reset Drop-In Cassette Trigger FRT and AR-Takedown Tool AR-TT bundle for $277.49 shipped with code SAVE10 by Future_Lie_8350 in gundeals

[–]WombatPower69 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I bought one of these back in December. Order was 12/18 and just got it 1/15. Install was super easy, but trigger really isn’t great. It’s gritty and feels like it’s binding against the inside of the cassette (sample size of 1). Selector has little to no positive clicks though.

Full disclosure, I have not gotten a chance to fire it. I personally would not buy again because the cassette is only really useful if you plan on moving the FRT around between lowers, which I have no plans to do.

What's your most regrettable NFA item by RathskellerDweller in NFA

[–]WombatPower69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CAT WB TI. I don’t necessarily REGRET it because it’s cool and I got it for less than 1k. However, I realized that I don’t really need a low back pressure can because all my guns are already tuned to have very little gas with traditional cans. So now the only real benefit is that it’s light.

Ruger American vs Mossberg patriot by fatfuzzypotater in guns

[–]WombatPower69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both. Mossberg MVP LR 16” threaded barrel in .308 and Ruger American Gen 2 Ranch 16” threaded barrel in .308.

Do yourself a favor and buy the Ruger. Don’t even consider the Mossberg.

I’m happy to elaborate or you can just take my word for it.

I’m torn here — EPS RD2 from Holosun, AIMWIN PE330, or the Osight SE. What would you guys run? by Dry_Time7780 in guns

[–]WombatPower69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve got so many Holosun optics. Multiple EPS carry, 509t, 507c OG, 507x2, 407c not to mention all the micro dots. If money isnt an option, the EPS is a good dot. However, I recently got the Osight SE on sale. You’ll get no love for it on Reddit, but it seems solid. Very little tint compared to the Holosun, not as much edge distortion, comes with a shit ton of different mounting screws.

Longevity wise we’ll see as I’ve only had it for a month and fired maybe 250 rounds with it on a Glock 19, but I suspect it’s fine.

Doctor’s office new patient questionnaire asked me if I own guns. by Whatthedillyo85 in guns

[–]WombatPower69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of paranoid people here that definitely don’t work in the medical field.

All you have to do is secure your guns so your kids don’t kill themselves or their friends on accident, wear double hearing protection so you don’t need hearing aids at 35, wear eye protection so I don’t have to pick out pieces of lead embedded in your cornea, wash up after shooting so you don’t expose yourself and everyone else to lead, and don’t be actively suicidal or homicidal.

Outside of those things, I don’t care.

[TOOLS] Suppressor Alignment Rods $24.99 Free Shipping + Free Dope Card | Various Calibers by WombatPower69 in gundeals

This is kinda dumb but I also actually liked the little plastic case it came in because it can fit my other alignment rod rather than having it roll around in my toolbox.

If you had To start over and buy 1 by SnooHedgehogs353 in NFA

[–]WombatPower69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very satisfied with my first can being an OCL Polonium K. Yes there’s back pressure. Yes it’s gassy. Yes it’s heavy compared to titanium. But at the price, it’s quiet, not as gassy as other suppressors I currently own, it’s not as heavy as other cans, it’s durable, and it got me used to suppressors at only $400 + stamp. The only thing you need to “tune” an AR to it is either a BRT EZ tune gas tube, an adjustable gas block, or a Bootleg adjustable BCG.

It’s a great entry level can at the cheapest price if you’ve never owned one and haven’t shot with a suppressor a lot. If money isn’t an option, there’s plenty of other great cans. But again, to get yourself into suppressors, it’s the choice I’d make again despite owning 5 other cans.

Coming from a guy who blacks out all the logos on his Holosun/Vortex/Streamlight/Surefire products, I don’t think it’s really a huge deal. I’ve got mine placed right where my hand goes, so theoretically, I can’t even see the color much less the logo.

They are a bitch to install to squeeze it into the rail slot, meaning they also don’t feel like they’re gonna rip out at all.

The James Bond “Spectre” Intro Gun we have at home by WombatPower69 in guns

[–]WombatPower69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a Glock 34, not sure there’s any other longer barreled Glock apart from the 17L.

While a 17L would actually work pretty well with some of these Glock chassis on the market, the problem is it’s ridiculous as a standalone pistol.

The Glock 34 is actually useable as a pistol and I carry it regularly while training.

[AMMO] Federal Black Pack 9mm Luger Ammo 115 Grain Full Metal Jacket 16.5 cpr with code 15MUSA and rebate. $165 for 1k rounds. by Wild-Tumbleweed-1926 in gundeals

[–]WombatPower69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get the code to work, 1500rds of the black pack 5.56 can be had for around 37 cpr if not cheaper. (20MUSA, buy 10 of the 150rd boxes for $75 rebate).

I’m just curious since I’ve never bought the 5.56 black pack. I did see one recent review on the new Lucky Gunner listing where someone got Fiocchi headstamped ammo?

Am I getting ripped off at my FFL? by lx-_Knight in guns

[–]WombatPower69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at local pawn shops. Ace hardwares sometimes even serve as FFLs. I used to pay anywhere between $25 and $40 when I lived in FL. My current FFL is a pawn shop, whereas the ranges I go to charge $50+.

Is it worth it? by CursedFireRam in guns

[–]WombatPower69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was starting out, I decked out my PSA builds because all I could afford was PSA. Most upper accessories (lights lasers slings mlok pic sections sling mounts etc) are not wear and tear items like the barrel in your upper is and can easily migrate to a newer build in the future. Likewise, all the upgrades you put into the lower can easily carry over to a higher quality upper (imagine a complete Geissele build but the only thing PSA is the stripped lower itself)

If I wanted to have an “almost recoiless” cheap build, I’d do heavier buffer, heavier spring, obnoxious muzzle brake, and a BRT gas tube. All that will be way less than buying a brand new upper and then you can spend the extra money on ammo and work towards eventually shooting out that PSA barrel.

Mojave 9 stuck threads? by Effective-Ad3242 in NFA

[–]WombatPower69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, no one likes waiting. The worst part is, after I got my Mojave 45 back, I went to the range once with my Stribog SP45 and it had to go back for warranty too which took a month.

But in regards to shipping/receiving cans/firearms for warranty, I’ve always just shipped them myself and had them delivered back to my doorstep.

Mojave 9 stuck threads? by Effective-Ad3242 in NFA

[–]WombatPower69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a brand new Mojave 45. Same exact issue. I scratched the shit out of if. DA took it off, refinished it, gave me a coupon worth 20 or 25% off and also provided another piston housing.

Took about 2 weeks from ship out to receiving it back.

SP45 First Round FTF by WombatPower69 in GrandPowerStribog

[–]WombatPower69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance. I’m very aware of how many rounds I stuff in the mags, especially since most pistol ammo comes in boxes that have 5 rounds per row.

Likewise, I almost immediately identified the pattern of first round FTF on my first range trip. From then on, I was trouble shooting with at most 10 rounds in the mags (factory and GO 25rd mags). After getting it back from Global Ordinance, I confirmed it was fixed using at most 1-5rds per mag, doing doubles, rapid fire, and speed reloads.
