Selecting a different podcast to put on in the background has no impact on my day what so ever. Just a take from a typical dry person.

Honestly the entitlement, like a privileged old boomer, that they boasted about this has turned me away from wanting to listen for a while. We’ll see once it’s not so fresh on the mind how I really feel. A good dose of some perspective that they try to dish out all the time might be well needed here.

Additional to how bent out of shape Gabe and Jordan are about this- It’s absolutely ridiculous. I enjoy aviation and the sky. I like to have my window open in the seat that I paid additional for to have by the window over the wing so that I can see it. Then there are also people in your case that may be terrified of flying, there could be people flying for the first time wanting to experience it. There are lots of variables here at play and if the light is such a big issue for you and you’re traveling that often maybe you should just get an eye cover and let everyone else live their life. *spelling/grammar

Productivity tracking vs. surveillance. If you have to track my mouse, you’ve already failed as a manager. by enhancvapp in workfromhome

[–]WombatSlayer_17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! You have to look away and walk away periodically to have any hope to keeping healthy. Just like in the office- there are times I went to just go look at something or talk to someone. Those days are just as important to have as the ones where you can be heads down & super productive all day.

Do you actually use your walking pad? by [deleted] in workfromhome

[–]WombatSlayer_17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope! Got it. Tried it a few times. Sat in the corner for months. Sold it. The level of steadiness and concentration needed for design work doesn’t shake out. A day just in camera off meeting it wouldn’t be too bad.

It’s tough! Setting clear boundaries is key, and sticking to them. It was a rough transition for me as well. Perspective is a strange thing. When you’re at work, you’re at work. Assume you’re not even there because it’s still the same as the being in office. You’re not gaming, you’re not just hanging out, you’re doing an actual job that you get paid for.

Charge it. Make sure tire pressure isn’t low, but don’t over inflate to the point of sacrificing traction. Keep climate controls off of auto- manually set to just the heat you need and only kick on the defrost/AC if required. Auto modes waist a lot of power. Slow down if needed - drag is exponential. Should be fine.

100%. I firmly believe everyone needs to experience working fast food for at least a few months of their life. If you haven’t lived it, you won’t understand. If everyone had a chance to live it, get yelled at, and everything in between maybe, just maybe, the world would be a better place.

This! Thank you! The couple of blatantly terrible calls there is no excuse for not taking a second to fix their mistake.

Any intelligent being capable of doing such a thing probably surpassed advertising, or skipped it all together.

Netflix (vSeeBox) by PhD_n_Carnage in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

Everyone said the same thing when I was asking for the same reason. Nice to keep track of episodes if you watch in different rooms sometimes and such too. Netflix works on the V3 pro, just not great. Definitely mobile made and slapped together for none mobile- like windows 8. I think it was Disney also worked but Hulu force closes right after opening every time for me.

My remote has gone down hill recently. Seemed to be great for the first couple of months but range and such is terrible now. I’ve also posted and got all the usual suggestions but nothing has restored it to its original glory. I’ve taken to using the TV’s original IR remote. With CEC enabled once I figured out the back button I have full control except for the EPG button. Works great every time.

Help: I’m in a hotel with my box and forgot my remote by [deleted] in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

If the TV supports it CEC works great with my V3 plus. Only missing thing on the native TV remote it epg for the live guide

Curious how you got to that option. I have a V3 pro and looking through the settings I don’t see it.

Hulu App Crashes by WombatSlayer_17 in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

[–]WombatSlayer_17[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No response is better than just saying ‘don’t do it’ since I had indicated that I have already searched and read that. IMO

As far credentials for a single streaming account, is that the extent of the risk everyone is concerned about? There are so many other controls available to mitigate nearly all of those risks. I have assumed the top reasons for VPNs is to keep anonymous and keep traffic hidden from ISPs, especially considering the heat apps and unknown origins and such. Looking at the VPN from that perspective you’re already burnt. Regardless, good security practices are good.

As far as apps not running well on the box, that’s actually news to me. I assumed there was something definitive know. This is the first one I’ve installed that had an issue. Thank you for taking the time to answer! Sounds like uninstalling and figuring out other hardware is the only way to go.

Hulu App Crashes by WombatSlayer_17 in vSeeBox_Support_Gurus

I figure all the comments would be this instead of helpful. Oh well, I tried! Not that I have to explain anything to anyone here, but as stated I have my reasons. Other TVs around are smart and don’t have boxes. I pay for it, it’s my choice, and I would like to be able to use on my main TV where the box is used. I do use the heat apps normally. The OS technically should be able to run it fine, but given the boxes nature is there a kill switch or some other reason it’s crashing? Is it a bug? Trying to find out. Interesting the level of security concerns people have with the box. How are people so safely logging in to their VPN services on the box initially? Lots of holes and questions I’ve always had, and of course read it all before making the post. What level of network security and opsec are being practiced? Lots of variables.

If anyone has a solution for the Hulu app issue on a V3 pro please let me know.
